Agreed, but if you have to then I’d rather be playing them at home.

Have there been any comments on or discussion around our preseason fixtures? I’m slightly surprised we’re not giving ourselves any slightly sterner tests with harder games against better opposition.

I thought he had potential as well, but for whatever reason he's come nowhere near fulfilling it.

I had a quick look at his stats, he only played 68 league games for us over 5 seasons (84 in all competitions) and only 20 league games (29 games in all competitions) for Portsmouth in a season and a half, so you can see he's just not played enough games to develop. Whether that's down to fitness and injuries or a poor attitude in training is something only the clubs will know. It's funny that in the 19/20 season that was cut short because of COVID that he played 32 league games, yet each following season he played less and less.

To be honest, he never developed defensively and though he was ok going forward he became a bit predictable without a great deal of end product. Once he was replaced he never really looked like getting back into the team when Cirkin arrived. At 24 now his career is at a crossroads, he's still young enough to improve and be at least a high end league if not championship level player, but if he doesn't, league 2 or conference is the best he can hope for.

Definitely looks the hardest month on paper to me but there’s always teams that fail to live up to expectations and vice versa (surprise packages) so who knows.

Played a real mix by then as well so see what mentality is like v the supposed lesser threats too.

It’s a great league this season size of the clubs. Several bigger than several PL clubs by a distance.

Call me a bluff old traditionalist but I think that, first weekend of the season, all games should kick off on a Saturday, 3pm.

You almost always know by 24.

Took some bad advice regarding his contract here and ended up running uphill when he needed the opposite.

But he gets injured a lot too. His best bet now is to concentrate on playing for a team now for a couple of years, get sixty games or so in, learn how to defend better, and try and pick up some league one contracts up until he's done. He could set himself up that way.

Mind, any decent agent would have told him that when he was here, balking at his contract offer.

You don't get many chances in football. Some bloody good players don't get any, and this lad might be on his last.

    Hume was ****.

He ran fast and looked like he ‘might’ be alright in a torrid time.

We liked his name though so we upgraded to Trai.

Made of glass, constantly out of position and fired balls into no man’s land constantly.
