You’re right mate he is a great dribbler but being able to dribble isn’t everything, end product is just as important. Jed Wallace can’t really dribble, isn’t as easy on the eye as Roberts but he’s managed an average of 16GA every season for the 4 years at this level, which is more than Roberts last season which was the only productive season he’s ever had.

He’s a decent player at this level but he’s not as good as some of our fans make out and is definitely replaceable.

I'd argue that last season teams were having to put 2 or 3 players on him (and amad), which reduced the assists he was getting but created a lot more space for Clarke and others to work their magic.

No player is irreplaceable, but he is a key player imo

The current regime have proven time and time again that they know what they’re doing. They’re smart and competent and exercise good judgment. You’d think it would have earned them some goodwill by now and people would give them the benefit of the doubt.

Instead a load of our supporters would rather put stock in a throwaway, speculative piece from a questionable journalist. I suspect they do so as it confirms their bias and supports their agenda. They either have an inherent distrust of the club and an adversarial relationship with the hierarchy that they just can’t shake or they pissed and moaned so loudly and with such conviction previously against KLD and Speakman et al that now being proven right is more important to them than anything else. They latch on to any negativity they can and then just disappear when times are good.
Apart from Kipper, I see that wart is back.

That’s a really good statement that and good to see them essentially say ‘ignore that ****e on social’ in an incredibly professional manner.

But Speakman ignores the fact that Mowbray was at odds with the club and sending subliminal messages like engineering a goalless draw at Coventry ...

... not to mention playing Bellingham and Dack as pretend forwards.

They had to go and spoil it by scoring goals and winning games <doh>

I think Amad really complimented Roberts they played so well together and lured players in as you mentioned. Now that Amad isn’t here and Pritchard doesn’t start I think Roberts will struggle a bit because he doesn’t have someone in his pocket playing little 1-2s. We’re going to start playing a 9 and if for arguments sake that’s Burstow and we continue playing the midfield 3 of Neil, Bellingham and Ekwah with Hume at RB something needs to change otherwise Roberts will be totally isolated out on that wing and his game will be so ineffective compared to what it was last season.

It’s still early in the season though so it may be that the quality we have can step up and compliment each other. Amad wasn’t all that early in the season either.

Beat me to it. If Tony thinks that Roberts is better with someone near him playing one-twos in and around the box,he'll coach the others to do it...Bellingham,Ba,Dack,Pritch could all do it without disturbing the Neil/ Ekwah base, and that's before we've had a chance to see the new lads just arrived.
Roberts is a good player....there'll be a way to get the best from him.

They all look good at the moment, it’s hellish man, I love it.

People don’t change do they? We have one of the most exciting young squads outside the premiership and still people complain. Note I said people, not supporters. My mind goes back to the 60s after Clough got his career-ending injury, his replacement was a 19 year old lad. I can’t recall his name; tallish and fair hair, came through our ranks. And he was a good centre forward and he scored some goals. But he wasnt a Clough and sections in the crowd, especially where I was in the clock-stand paddock, were soon on his back. Fortunately, the moaners were drowned out by supporters in other parts of the ground. Same old same old. Usher?
