in my opinion, harry was appointed to try and give instant impact and keep you up and then it would be taken from there. it could have worked - many of us claimed it wouldn't but just as many said it would! i'm a firm believer in giving a new generation of managers a chance if they've impressed. when the club was relegated and in need of a mass overhaul, a change of attitude was in order. by sticking with redknapp you've failed to address your issues. instead, he is taking you down exactly the same road as you were before but this time without the draw of the premier league. signings like richard dunne and karl henry are completely wrong if you want to get out of the division - ironically, a player he's just let go, jamie mackie, is the right kind! appointing redknapp last season was a gamble but anyone you appointed at that time would have been. had i been in fernandes shoes i'd have fired redknapp for failing to keep the club up and i'd have gone with someone like karl robinson instead. he's bright and inventive with a refreshing approach and he'd have livened the place up. no leaning out of car windows giving sound bites to your mates in the media, no circus - just knuckle down, work hard, play good football and get out of the league at the first time of asking.

His only other option seems to be Liverpool, and if they keep hold of Suarez I don't think they'll spend that big this year. Seems like toby knows this, hence his (and his dads) comments about not having said no to Norwich, just wanting to bide his time.
Still strong favourite to come to Norwich at the bookies too.

If Alderweireld wants to make a play for Belgium's World Cup team what better way than to have spent a season playing against many of the strikers and midfielders he will be facing.
Personally I doubt we'll sign him just because I think Liverpool will.

For me Alderweireld would complete the set if incredible signings. I've mentioned before that if Bassong was injured for a reasonable period if time I think we would be quite weak at CB. On their day both Turner and Bennett have proven they are good enough but not sure i would want them pairing up week in week out. Saying that they probably both earnt the right to challenge for starts after impressive 2nd half to the season.
I don't think I can take any more. If at some point this summer the club announce those two signings I will know I have lost it, completely.
we've done such good business this summer and with just a CEO, Manager and Chief Scout, when you look at the clubs who have a "Director of football" I'm thinking of Liverpool and Newcastle in particular, the business has been slower. Makes you question the role of director of football and wether it could be an impediment to getting things done.
You get a problem when you don't go the whole hog. Imagine that CH was our Director of Football rather than our manager. He would be tasked with exactly what you are praising him for doing, but he'd do it throughout the year, constantly focussed on that, together with the CEO and Chief Scout. The on-field management of the teams would be the responsibility of a coach, say Calderwood. He would relate to Hughton (the DoF) in a way similar to the way our youth team coach currently relates to CH (as manager). This works perfectly well if everyone understands and accepts the responsibilities and limitations of their roles. The trouble with clubs trying to implement the system here is that it runs completely counter to the traditional British notion of club management, in which the manager has control over pretty much everything. So they end up with an unworkable half way house in which a traditional British-style manager (Pardew) finds his wings clipped. Imagine Man Utd appointing a DoF while Ferguson was manager and telling him that Christiano Ronaldo was being sold against his wishes!

After watching the various YouTube clips of Hooper all I can say is wow! I never thought to highly of him, generally cos its the Scottish league but this lad can play. His movement is clever his finishing is lethal but what really caught my eye was his first touch and reactions, absolutely brilliant!!
Him and RVW are really going to be something else, potentially the best striking partnership this clubs ever had!
