If it was a bigger club than maybe I'd be more worried, but it's only West Ham, not much of a big step up.

We'd never sell one of our best players to a direct rival, unless they came in with stupid money.

£5M ? The're havin' a laugh, that wouldn't buy one leg <doh>

He's worth £10-12M at least IMO and even if they did offer that I still wouldn't sell we don't have to. We're not a selling club anymore, we're trying to build something here are we not ?

Snodgrass will go nowhere. Jesus, it took us long enough to get him here in the first place.

He's a key player, an international and a huge asset to us.

I'm not sure the deal would benefit him any more either, west ham aren't going to pay him amazingly more than us.

I'm amazed its taken this long for some interest to come of him.

5 million is an insult though, ****ing cockneys.

Sky bet have Norwich favourites for Toby Alderweireld ahead of Liverpool again

Have to say I'd be really excited about one more quality CB. Not so fussed about Quags now we have Hooper in the fold. Perhaps the CAM too that's already been mentioned but I would like to see Howson given a crack at it.

Anyone remember roughly how much we paid Leeds for Snodgrass, wiki says (surprise!) 'undisclosed'.
Just wondered what sort of offer may be considered - and then rejected <ok>

Got a feeling we paid 2.5 to 3 million. No way he'd be for sold unless he drives this. Massively influential player for us last season.

Any club interested are making themselves look like real twats by offering anything less than £10m, which, similar to the Ruddy-to-Chelsea myth, would be rejected I feel.

I imagine Snoddy is raring to get started, with Fer alongside and more mobility in RvW and Hooper ahead of him this season <ok>

Haha, not a chance. Norwich haven't been playing by the football hierarchy handbook of late, it must be bugging the hacks.

Just like ruddy, the ball is in our court. There is also no way we would be willing to do business at such a derisory offer.

Tell me, how much did they pay for Matt Jarvis? Much better player...

Anyone know what's left on snoddys contract, 2 years? Just wondering if this is jangling for a new contract. Deserves one.

The player I would have thought would have some say in it, like if he wants to go or not. But I can't really see why he would want to move to West Ham, if it was a bigger club then I'm sure he'd want to go.

I actually don't think the "rival" question would feature on any decision. All clubs are "selling" clubs, if the right offer comes in. The difference now is that we would be more aggressive with our sales tactics. If we get an offer of 12m for Snodgrass, from anyone, I'd say take it. Just like I think Spurs should take 80m odd for Bale and reinvest.

Completely agree. I don't see why we would pay another 8m for a player with no sell on value and then have Hooper stuck on the bench. I think if the worst comes to the worst, and there are two major injuries to our forwards, we could still give a youth player a chance or move Pilks up front. Then go back for Quags in January. Don't get me wrong, it would be great having that strength in depth, but it would be a big outlay on wages for a club of our size.

As for Toby, that would be amazing. I'd be happy to start the season right now, but that would be the icing on the cake of transfers this summer.

£2.8m with add-ons seems to be the most reliable info.

Yeah 2 years. Definitely deserves a pay raise to make him amongst our top earners IMO, if he's not already.

Another thing about snoddy, why do people have a go at him for being "stroppy"?

To me it's passion he's as hard on himself as he is on anyone, he has high standards and wants to excel.

Him bassong and ruddy are pretty much first on my teamsheet

I would be very surprised if Snoddy gives any indication that he wants a move. He's at a club where the fans love him. He has two international teamates with him. He doesn't have to live in London. No contest.

A few murmurs on Twitter were making an improved bid nearer the €8mil for Quag. He's clearly not wanted at Juve and there isn't any clear interest from any other clubs.
