Just read on Sky news. Harry says Hooper wanted to join qpr, but City sweet talked him into changing his mind. In which alternate universe did this occur?
@ Redknapp! http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...ws/redknapp-hooper-wanted-qpr-move_95301.html He's still deluded enough to think that a move to chequebook waving QPR in a lower league is better for the player than a mid-table Premiership side who are showing terrific acumen in their signings. Hooper moved for the benefit of his career, not a few poxy extra quid, 'Arry
Having watched the clip that can be viewed here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xSLoDVoXqVo (apologies if it's already been posted) I'm off to th e bookies later to see what odds I'll get for Hooper to score 15 or more goals this season. One area where he's much better than the old GH is when he's 'one-on-one' with the goalkeeper - I don't remember Grant convertiing one of at least half a dozen such opportunities he had last season.
That's absolutely brilliant and just makes it even the more sweeter! I think the comment under the article sums it up very nicely indeed
If we don't do another deal - this is already the best pre-season transfer dealings I can remember. I've been excited by lots of players coming in - Ashton, Hucks, Hellweg, Anselyn, Mulryne, Rivers, Bentley, Dublin - some bloody good players to get excited about. Over the last couple of seasons Pilks, Howson, Bassong, Garrido - new players that you can really look forward to seeing what they can do. But this window is something else... Starting with RvW and now Hooper. Fer and Redmond. These guys I'm dying to watch in a Canaries shirt In all honesty, finishing roughly where we've been for the last few seasons is fine by me, if it allows us to keep the momentum going on the field, expand Carrow Rd to squeeze in a few more fans, sign a couple more gems next summer, get some stars of the future into the academy.., It's not just a great pre-season - it's a great time for the club. I can't remember another like it. McNally, legend.
After watching the various YouTube clips of Hooper all I can say is wow! I never thought to highly of him, generally cos its the Scottish league but this lad can play. His movement is clever his finishing is lethal but what really caught my eye was his first touch and reactions, absolutely brilliant!! Him and RVW are really going to be something else, potentially the best striking partnership this clubs ever had!
redknapp is blatantly looking for any escape route at the moment. he now has the hooper thing to chuck at his owner when he walks out
Redknapp is saying that QPR didn't move quickly enough. Conveniently forgetting that Hughton made his move in early January. I'm sure knowing of confirmed interest from NCFC for all that time had half convinced him that his future lay here - and if he needed further persuasion, up popped good old Fraser Forster, to emphasise what a great club/county/fan base we have here and how FF enjoyed his time here. Job done!
Redknapp is a cnut of the highest order, he's talking bollocks and he knows it. IMO he's taking a pop at his own club trying to engineer a way out of managing a Championship club, trying to get the sack and not for footballing reasons so as to keep his 'reputation' intact and getting his contract paid up at the same time. I make no secret of the fact that I dislike him immensely and for once I reckon The FA made the right decision in not considering him for the England managers job. Why the media seem to have such a 'love in' with him is beyond me, I would never trust him as I find his persona similar to that of the perverbial 'cockney villian'
Its all sour grapes and arry trying to cover his arse! He must be wondering what the hell has happened with his career, 2-3 years ago he was in Champions league with Spurs. Now his is in the championship with QPR struggling to sign players as they dont want to come to the club. What a come down. Ouch. Reality must be kicking in now and he must be thinking "oh god, what have I done" I particularly loved it when he arrived at QPR and the BBC were waxing lyrical about Harry "Houdini" Rednapp and the great escape. Then to see it fail so spectacularly and watch all the pundits and the BBC back track so much it was so beautiful to watch.
For a good laugh, have a look at 'Arry as Hitler on the Hooper failure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JESJ1uxAC0E
Good luck lads for the season and I hope Hooper does well for you. Excuse our manager he is slowly wrecking our club ... It's not been a happy time with Harold he wrecked whatever team spirit we had and blames it all on anyone else. Regardless of money etc what do you think could of been done with our squad with say a young forward thinking manager? Harold is a dinosaur who has shown to be clueless
To be fair Neil Lennon has been quoted on NewsNow thanking him and wishing him all the best! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...er-news/celtic-boss-neil-lennon-pays-2094793?
Don't know if it's been said on here, but his reported wage will be 40k p/w. can't see it being that much surely!
