13.43 BST - DONE DEAL: Chelsea have confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne has joined Werder Bremen on a season-long loan deal.

Looks like he was a AVB buy and they really don't want him there or just think multiple loan spells is better for his development? After buying the players they have, I don't think they can offload him yet ( probably wages).

Edit: Sorry I spout about other teams, I am sucker for transfer gossip.

indeed.. psg are now spending like water... the financial fair play rules don't exist and will never exist.

for a small club willing to do business there is an awful lot of loan bargains out there.

If we want some flair and creativity....

Still got it them two! <laugh>

Would hate to see BR try the bicycle kick. <yikes>

pity their players never get to practice and are rubbish (dzeko)

They did lose to Oldham the other day! <yikes>

Dzeko was good at the start of the season then they killed his confidence by bringing Balotelli through, turned out to be the right move in the end but still. I wonder if they will get higuian? That seems to be the big signing they want.

yeah.. i think cheslea were very wasteful with selling players cheap but these arabs seem as tight as....

if they'd not shovel out tevez on the cheap they'll not shove adam johnson out either.

Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen.

The Welsh club are holding out for £15million, which would trigger a release clause in Allen's contract, but Liverpool have offered £12.5m and Jonjo Shelvey on loan.

According to the Liverpool Daily Post, Swansea are set to reject that offer but Allen is still expected to complete his transfer.

12.5 still seems too much and Shelvey I think could play a role with us this year.

I'm not really bothered about that price. Allen and Lucas will be fantastic to have sitting deep for us, Shelvey would be better as the most forward player in midfield. Allen's passing accuracy was one of the top in europe last season, before people start talk about backwards and sideways passing that is a fantastic record... and they know little about football.

Best way to go forward is backwards sometimes. <ok>

Just don't know enough to justify over 10 mil. I still remember when Cisse was our record buy at 14 mil!!!

Whatever we get Allen for, it's not going to be more than £15m. I'm more concerned of who we might not buy. Ramirez? Good winger striker? We need plenty of quality up front to compete with the teams around us.

Hearing news that Aquilani is close to joining Fiorentina for roughly €4m. Also, we'll be contributing €1.7m/year in wages.

In effect, we'll make nothing on this deal.

Why would we be contributing to wages if we are selling him to Fiorentina <confused>

Aquilani is on high wages and other clubs aren't prepared to pay them. We have to pay a portion of them to get rid of him.

As much as I like Aquilani as a player, 3 LFC managers aren't willing to give him a chance and 2 Italian managers didn't want to sign him on a permanent deal. Something must be going on in the background that we don't know about. I was a big Aqua fan but now I just hope we can get rid of him ASAP as I think we're all getting tired of this.

Aquilani is on high wages that other clubs aren't prepared to pay. Aquilani is obviously happy to sit and take the wages whilst not playing rather than take a pay cut (****) so the only way we shift him is if we contribute. We would only have to contribute for the length of his remaining Liverpool contract (two years I think) so, in theory, the 4m euros will be wiped out anyway <ok>
