Football is all about being honest with players imo.

They have to know that, if they're not first choice, they have to fight for that right ...

... as it happens I don't think I've ever seen team morale any higher at Sunderland.
Well, we will find that out once the gamea begin for me. The morale in the play offs was as good as I remember. We need to see that sort of morale when the games start for me. I am hopeful.

Aye he could certainly leave, but he isn’t giving up 70% of his salary to come to Sunderland.

Would be a dream. Lefty too. Absolutely zero chance on this one.

KLD could pull a Man City and pay him under the table. I'll give it a 0.04% chance of happening. Slightly more more likely than us going invincible this season but with only draws

We haven’t had any updates on injuries really so Sunday’s team COULD actually include

Patterson, Huggins, Triantis, Neil, Browne, rigg, Roberts, isidor, aleksic, ELF

now unlikely they’ll all play but those in bold are perhaps likely to? Not that bad really plus it’s an afternoon where I’m not lazing about the house

Think Guiu is involved Sunday as well. Decent little squad.

I personally don't like that he hasn't mixed it up more earlier in preseason as it's harder to play well and stake that claim when you're surrounded by U21s and bomb squad potential.

I understand his reasons for not though (connections amongst the new lads) as much as it wouldn't be my preference.
I think some might be underestimating a stubborn streak in Regis. I say that in a positive way. His stubnorness last year did the trick. He was really loyal to a core. I think he will be again. I just dont see a coach who rotates much. His commitment to connections underpins this. His subs to a lesser degree showed it too. I agree he didnt have options last year, to a point, but I also dont see him becoming Ranieri this year. My opinion is a core will get the lions share of minutes. Up to lads to decide if they want to be part of that or not. Make no mistake, players will know whether they can break in or not. If we really hold onto lads who value first team football I would be surprised. Just my view, but I think Regis is clear minded and committed to players, which like I say is good. But it does mean lots of high quality in the squad spots is a bit of a pipe dream.

I think we will see more flexibility from him squad wise compared to last year as I think he will be more confident with the lads on the bench than he was, as you say though he’s not suddenly going to turn into a tinkerman

It felt like we had all collectively agreed to ignore Burnley's business because they feel like a cert to finish 20th. Ugochukwu looked good in spells at Southampton though. Broja may prove me wrong but is, on the face of it, a horrendous signing. Not prolific enough when fit to justify the risk and rarely fit in the last few seasons. Dúbravka is solid enough, don't think he's going to cost them any points.

I like the signings of Dubravka and Ugochukwu, both good PL players imo

Borja hasn't looked a player for about 5 yrs now, if they can unlock that early talent he could be a good signing

Still not sure any of their new signings strat for us tho

I do seem to remember him punching the ball into his own net <laugh>
