I think the point I'm trying to make is that it isn't necessarily the size of the budget. Eg:,we agree a fee of 40m for someone,but the selling club want 30m now and the rest in a year,as they've agreed to buy a replacement player for 30m payable now all in one go. We don't want to do that,because we're committed to paying Roma 30m now as part of the Enzo deal....we want to pay 10m now and the rest over 2 years.
We have the budget, the player wants to come,his club is willing to sell.....but....it's no deal.
Maybe Xhaka is an option at centre back with Reinaldo at LB. Sure he played a few games there for Arsenal and would certainly help with playing out from the back. Not ideal but could work for a game or 2 with sadiki diarra and le fee in the midfield

Some posters keep bleeting on about the same old ****, which gets tedious. It’s been going on for a year. Ignore helps, but not when the same topic is spiking.
if you were out in the pub and someone in the group kept going on / whinging about the same old thing, would you
a) encourage them to keep repeating themselves ad nauseam
B) try and steer their conversation away from the repeated topic
C) find a different spot in the bar for a different convo/but craic
D) drink a lot more to drown out their ****e patter
E) give them something to drink so they’re quickly hammered and shoved into a corner/taxi home
F) give them a slap and tell them to move on
I’d say for most of us it’s never gonna be A
Always a blend of the B to F strategy.

the same old **** is a crucial position that needs filling and this is a transfer rumour thread of course it's going to keep being discussed when it's the prevalent issue right now, it's natural. Only people whinging are the ones whinging about people talking about it like. Also, no one is bashing the club about it either they are just discussing their opinions and thoughts, which is what this thread is for.
Based on us not having a player with a beard, i think we should sign him
