If it is us signing Masuaku, I don't think it means Cirkin is off, we need a deep squad and not sure we can rely on 2 LB's all season when one has injury problems every season

Gives us a wee bit of extra cover at CB also, giving us the option to use Reinaldo there if needed.

if you were out in the pub and someone in the group kept going on / whinging about the same old thing, would you

a) encourage them to keep repeating themselves ad nauseam
B) try and steer their conversation away from the repeated topic
C) find a different spot in the bar for a different convo/but craic
D) drink a lot more to drown out their ****e patter
E) give them something to drink so they’re quickly hammered and shoved into a corner/taxi home
F) give them a slap and tell them to move on

I’d say for most of us it’s never gonna be A

Always a blend of the B to F strategy.

That's your interpretation which you're entitled to. I'd disagree.

It's just language in written form on a message board.

When I say "we're desperate for a centre back" it doesn't mean I'm sitting here with anxiety over it. Just discussing it with fellow Sunderland fans because I like talking about the lads and about football.

I can confidently say i remember nothing about his time at West Ham which is probably a good thing my brain tends to retain negative information :emoticon-0102-bigsm
 
Could Hume fill in at CB if needed? Then we’d need a good option at RB but they might be easier to find.

Masuaku? Hmmm. Assuming it doesn't cost us much, it isn't gonna be a hugely damaging one, but it's not really a standout answer to one of our current problems on the face of it. Doesn't answer our immediate need. Doesn't do much longer term other than adding another body to an already bloated squad. Maybe we see Reinildo as a centre half, in which case it becomes a bit more sensible. But if not, I don't see this as being a super valuable transfer given current public info.
