That's your interpretation which you're entitled to. I'd disagree. It's just language in written form on a message board. When I say "we're desperate for a centre back" it doesn't mean I'm sitting here with anxiety over it. Just discussing it with fellow Sunderland fans because I like talking about the lads and about football.

Could Hume fill in at CB if needed? Then we’d need a good option at RB but they might be easier to find.
Masuaku? Hmmm. Assuming it doesn't cost us much, it isn't gonna be a hugely damaging one, but it's not really a standout answer to one of our current problems on the face of it. Doesn't answer our immediate need. Doesn't do much longer term other than adding another body to an already bloated squad. Maybe we see Reinildo as a centre half, in which case it becomes a bit more sensible. But if not, I don't see this as being a super valuable transfer given current public info.
