Would be a ridiculous signing but RLB's former players do seem to love him. That's virtually the only thing that would give us a chance.
That and game time which is apparently his gripe at Bournemouth

Step above both Adingra and Talbi

On the Bowen thing, it looks like WHU have been using a back three all summer, with Bowen playing up top in a two. Expect he'll pop up all over, but I wouldn't think he'll be pinned to the right flank. Dunno what that means for our defensive options though:emoticon-0102-bigsm

It means we need to be flexible as I believe we can be.

We now have a very experienced left back, who’s happy in a 3, 4 or 5 with Le Fée, Diarra and Xhaka backing him up wherever is needed …

… Bowen will have some tough tackling defenders to cope with, he's not going to relax for a second.

Whoever’s tracking back needs to be there for the full back.

F8ck sake man just say we have no chance instead of giving us hope haha
Aye you're right, no chance at all and we are signing kazaiah sterling.

Is he a left footed right winger? Apologies for the millionth time about my lack of knowledge outside my safc bubble
Yeah generally would say hes left footed right winger but also scores basically the same amount with his right and scores a lot of headers. Natural cover for LW, RW and ST really.

Fair; I still think this would be some acquisition
Yeah totally mate, thats why it'll happen! (no idea if we even want him).

He did the back end of last year actually. He’s rapid Bowen. Isn’t always consistent

Reactions: Frazier the Lion
I am reasonably relaxed about CB, always have been. I understand the want for game 1. It seems to me the club are fishing in the big fish pond at the moment. Maybe we are unsuccessful and have to drop down a pond. There are so many very good CBs kicking about that I don't mind the notion of coming down a level personally. We will pick a couple up who fit the squad, and they don't need to cost £30m by any means.

I understand the underlying logic but I can't help feel that if we were willing and able to spend €40m on a centre back, we'd have one by now.

Or it could be that no centre back worth €40m wants to live in Sunderland …

… if I had that kind of money I don’t think I would either tbh.

What I'm saying is that what you see as excuses may only be your opinion.

You don't need to be telling anyone we need reinforcements, especially the club as they already know.

When you say 'we shouldn’t be quick to dismiss people’s valid concerns' you're missing the point imo ...

... just because people aren't repeating themselves it doesn't mean they're not concerned.

I think we all have the same concerns and would like some defenders but constantly repeating that doesn't mean you're more concerned than anyone else.

What people are saying, myself included, is that we know ... we just don't need to keep going on about it as if that'll make the club work harder.

It's just repetition for no reason.

Top post marra, couldn't say it better myself.

Is still obviously happened because we’ve just done it with Jobe but it feels like the days of finding bargain footballers aren’t going to be here for much longer. Feels like anyone coming to the PL is €20m minimum, foreign clubs must see English clubs coming a mile off.
