You would have thought us signing the first choice left back for Athletico Madrid was realistic?

You have been in for the same players as us. Sadiki has openly stated that he turned you down to sign for Sunderland .
That’s because you read it like that and click bait wants to stir it up. We spoke with him is what he actually said. He didn’t say he turned us down, we never offered the amount they wanted and Sunderland did

I was replying to the “what PL experience” quote unless I misread the point. Struijk, Aaronson and Gnonto were on fire the first few games they played in the PL, Bamfords first season he bagged 18 goals but I’m ignoring him

Sometimes you just need the right mix, Bielsa was ravaged with injuries and the players were broke season two, Jesse was a clown.

We haven’t signed Bijol to sit on the bench, Sebastian Bornauw is going to surprise a few, apparently we had been after him since January, Nmecha on a free is good business.

We’ve made some clever signings targeting players in final years of their contract

I rate Nmecha if he’s over the injury.

Bornauw I’d have for the bench but be fearful for first 11, Bijol excellent defender but my days he will get his arse handed on a plate of you try a high line.

None if them are bad signings and you haven’t overpaid, but none of them are gonna strike fear into anyone, or even make them question anything.

I only hope your managers and execs also completely overlook what we had and what we added due to the gap last season.

I hope Burnley do too.

We are coming.

Your bid was accepted by them lol

I’m worried about Burnley the most. Losing both centre backs and the keeper from a team built around defence. Not good.

I’m not worried about them. **** them.

I’d love us and Leeds to survive but **** them. I only wish we could nick Esteve and weaken them further.

I meant worried for them not worried about them, if that makes sense. Couldn’t give a **** who gets relegated as long as it’s not us.

Not to side with the opposition here, but we don't have to cover the truth in glitter to make it seem better - its impressive as is.

Reinildo was a rotation player for athletico madrid, but was a really useful squad player for one of the best teams in the world and Sadiki obviously didn't have to reject Leeds when ours was the only accepted bid.

This isn't to say Leeds might have eventually gone higher but we are quick, the whole deal was done in 2 days from the first mention of it to Sadiki to the announcement.

I am also certain that the players we have signed that were linked to leeds were genuine targets of theirs but they are playing the patient game, they seem to be eyeing up the market to find the best value (in their eyes) that they can, whereas we have identified our top targets and arent scared to negotiate quickly. Don't think we have ended up overpaying on anyone really, apart from maybe Talbi but hes the sort of player who could go for double in a couple years - Leeds on the other hand seem more hesitant to spend money which will either be a good or bad thing come the end of the window, time will tell.

Well tbf, you’ve just made that up as well, no one really has a clue how it progressed.

We signed Junior Firpo from Barcelona, when they first signed him, they inserted a £183m release fee. He was a gash LB in the PL no idea how your LB will fair, I know we enquired and went elsewhere in the end, no idea why, could be his choice could be we didn’t see him as first choice. I’m hoping we’ve signed better than Firpo
