Anyway, my favourite subject - coaches. We have a new one. And may I welcome him with a dancing man :emoticon-0169-dance

I am really excited by his appointment. Pioli has been one of the very elite coaches in Europe for years. He has seen it all and done it all. To be part of his team for so long is so impressive to me.

I like a bit of Italian footy. I really enjoyed how we coached Milan. Pioli must have had 4 systems in that time. When he got Zlatan he went to a 4231 and let Zlatan be Zlatan. Runners everywhere behind him, but who could play as well. I cant remember who he signed at one point, think it was a Croatian. Struggled a bit so flipped his system to get him as a left sided attacker and bingo. I would watch his team and see them adapt to opposition and game situations and think his is tactically so elite. I mean really elite. His subs would nearly always change things.

If Vulcano brings some of the coaching intelligence we are onto something I think. There is no guarantees in football and new personnel, but this is a pick out of a drawer higher than I hoped for. Delighted with it.
I'm so excited by our 2 new members of staff, more to come as well

Just shows we are continuing to improve every aspect of the club

Is it wrong to hope some of our own lads make the step up? Lads we have watched grow from league 1?

Hume, Neil, Patto etc.

Am I alone in hoping they smash the premier league? Or is it accepted we bin them off for new players?
Nope I was saying to @Jarca today how proud I'd be to see the lads that played for us L1 play in the PL

Some of them might struggle for game time (depending on who comes in) but I'd love all of them to get some minutes in the league

It would never be wrong to hope it, just depends if they themselves or the club think they will too.

Just reads at times like the lads that got us here aren't good enough and easily replaced, yes I know thats life and the harsh reality of football, but these lads grew with us and gave everything for the shirt and the club.

It would hurt to just discard them imo

If they are not good enough they need to be discarded. If they are they should be kept.

Simple as that.

They were well paid for the job they’ve done so far

I'm pretty sure the core of the squad that got us up will stay. 15 players played 1000+ minutes last season (that's what i'd class as the core), 2 of them have left (Jobe and Mepham) so that leaves 13. Watson played 890 minutes (would've been more without injury), so that's more minutes to fill. With a matchday squad of 20 there's definitely room for both a lot of new signings and the core remaining

I am still expecting a fair few of the promoted XI to be starting or getting very regular minutes. Just bin off the minutes taken up by all the fringe players and replace it with quality.
