Is it wrong to hope some of our own lads make the step up? Lads we have watched grow from league 1?

Hume, Neil, Patto etc.

Am I alone in hoping they smash the premier league? Or is it accepted we bin them off for new players?

Absolutely not mate. Ofcourse we want some homegrown in the line up, but on the other hand, it's the big leagues now so some emotion needs taking out of it. Imo Lads like Luke will get limited game time if indeed he stops, Dan I can see playing and patto deserves a shot. However, it's clear that the powers that be aren't messing about so we will have to see I suppose. But no, you're not wrong to want some of the local lads to have a chance.

Just reads at times like the lads that got us here aren't good enough and easily replaced, yes I know thats life and the harsh reality of football, but these lads grew with us and gave everything for the shirt and the club.

It would hurt to just discard them imo

Def wouldn't just discard them, some will step up with us and really kick on with us but we got to the PL by having to be ruthless. When we got promoted from L1 some couldn't make the step up to where we wanted to go (Gooch, Wright, DB, pritchard) so we sold them.

Plenty of last seasons squad will play a huge part this season, but the step up is huge so it's natural that we have to bring in quality players to compliment what we've got
