I know you all like these.

Comprehensively our best player, and currently listed as the 18th best LB in the world.

Talk about level up.

The last 80 rated player I can remember is having on there?

Trick question, we haven’t had one (excluding weekly cards)

Had a few before they joined (Defoe at Spurs, Cana at Marseille) and after they left (most notably the 2 Jordans, Hendo peaking at 86)

I had assumed Cirkin would be first choice but now I think about it, Atletico Madrid’s left back is just a level up isn’t it?

should be good competition between them either way

It's the perfect balance. Cirkin doesn't seem to ever be fit enough to play a whole season. This lad is 31, only played about 1500 minutes last season (17 full games) and has AFCON so won't be expecting to be guaranteed a start. We have healthy competition where neither will be guaranteed 1st choice, both will be fine with some time on the bench. Reinaldo with a lot of pace and better defensively, Cirkin stronger going forward and with huge potential to grow into a top class left back over the next couple of years.

Just so much more in keeping with the smart way we’ve been running the club. We should only be lying relatively big fees for older pros if they are absolute stick-on starters and transformational upgrades. Doing this sort of deal frees us from the perils of failure. If he’s ****e we’ve not hamstrung ourselves. Meanwhile we’ve got a credible hedge against cirkin getting injured or failing to make the grade.

Suspect we could leave fullback areas as they are now. Just need that game changing centre half.
Definitely need competition at RB. In fact more than we did at LB in my opinion.

Exactly this mate. And Corks can learn from the lad.

Fact he can play CB is helpful also.

Yeh I don’t think Cirkin is going to suddenly want to leave because of this. He’ll see it as a challenge and a chance to learn and improve.

It’s not like he’s going to get a premier league starting berth somewhere else so he’d only be leaving for a championship move or a backup role somewhere else.

Makes much more sense for him to stay here and fight for his place.
