So the story about the keeper coach a fortnight ago was bulllshit
It looks like he had a bad season in front of goal last year and maybe we have doubts about his readiness to step up. Possibly the reason we thought he might be attainable at championship level last season.
Cresswell seems like such an obvious target but he's been that for 3 seasons now. Can't help but feel we'd have pulled the trigger if we were really interested.
When he went to Toulouse he cost just shy of 4m. I think that was probably beyond our championship budget for a defender and now he’s valued at more like 12m we’d need to be very confident. I reckon at 12-15m there will be players we rate higher.
I’ve had similar thoughts about Lennon Miller. Are there one or two doubts that are putting off big clubs having picked him up already?
I think with Miller, the big clubs can wait for someone in the bottom half of the prem taking the chance on him and picking him off later. Miller is only 18 and the Premier League will be a big ask for him next year.
Cresswell is slightly different in the fact that he's 23 this summer and he needs to be performing at the level we need immediately.
