I do have some concerns about Saba Goglichidze but one thing that is 100% never going to be an issue is his physical attributes, the things we can't help him develop.

He's really strong, has a good leap on him but doesn't necessarily win enough of his headers (think it's a timing problem which we can teach) and one of the fastest players going. And that isn't an exaggeration, he recorded the 2nd fastest speed in the whole serie a last season

My doubts come from his ability on the ball and sometimes recklessness, it's important to contextualize these issues to playing for empoli because they are a very poor side and never dominate games in that way. But he isn't an incredible passer in intricate play (empoli are usually struggling to progress anyway), made a fair few errors that led to empoli conceded and made some pretty nasty fouls.

He can however ping some really intelligent and impressive long balls and start counters, of course as mentioned is a huge asset for covering a fullback or fellow centre half and is very active in duels.

What's interesting is a lot of our centre back targets play in a back 3 like Saba, perhaps a switch of system?

For that price though I think it's a no brainer but he's someone who needs developing in order to become a top defender. We'd certainly need other options imo.
I think all defenders have some recklishness about them but ony 3 yellow cards from 33 games in a losing side is pretty impressive in a league where players fall over at the slightest breeze, Granted he did have 1 red as well

Really liking some of the links today, who knows whether there is truth to them or not.

It's exciting to be linked to super talented young players but some players that feel like more "guaranteed" to succeed would be nice - I'm not even someone that values experience super highly as long as you have the right characters who have their own experience maybe despite age, but a couple of attackers who have shown consistent ability would be great.

On Bischoff his fee to brighton was roughly £4.5m and that was all agreed due to him having a year left on his deal, i think bischoff is a bigger talent than watson and so did brighton which is why they more heavily pursued him and had everything agreed so early - when he rejected a contract without release clause in the middle of February they went back in with offers for Watson to join in July.
I agree. Would be nice to see a player from one of the top 5 leagues linked with some real pedigree even if they are young. Le Fee types

Cresswell is the one I'd want still, Norton-Cuffy done well this competition but feel he's best as a RWB
What system do you think we will play/ should play? I’m not convinced we’ll play the same one. I think there’s a lot more going on to defend in the space behind the 9 in the premier league and I’d be surprised if we only play with one person in Neil’s position. Extra centre back or two holding midfielders maybe. I’ve thought for a while we’re all saying where we should strengthen based on last years system but we may well change it or at the very least have a different set up away.

No idea at this stage, I still think it'll be the same system as it seems to be RLBs preferred choice and the one he's had success with

We need flexibility though so some signings will be made with a couple systems in mind

Agreed right age reminds me a little of ballard. Attacks the ball well and seems to have decent pace. Would be a very good signing. Not sure if it's possible mind. Norton cluffy has potential as well, pacey and looks to have a something about him particularly going forward. Think he would struggle as an out and out right back.
