Le Bris is going to have to adapt a bit next season imo. I dont think we can go and play a low or mid block and survive. We will have to mix it up. There are going to be 12 or so home games where targeting 3 points is vital. In those games we will need to be more possession orientated. Counter attacking in the prem will be so much harder to do. Then there are probably 12 away games where we can target something too, where even a point will be a good outcome. A different style will be needed again.

I am really interested to see how he approaches the season tactically. Like our players he is stepping up to a level above what he has known so far. He is against coaches who in many cases have done much more. Like with our young lads I am excited to see how we does and I am quite confident he will thrive.
Great post marra and I agree with you.

Looks like changes are inland

Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads

Giving rigg a few more years and protecting ourselves should happen, kid looks like he loves it here. Is anything happening with trey? Went a bit quiet with him.
Hopefully we get a few more coaches in, think we need a few more ideas when we’re with the ball, was times last year when we were so predictable and slow

Overpaying for lads in their mid 30s has to have a ceiling like. Insane strategy because theres literally no sell on.

Big fan of Rob and Ryan as human beings, generally great blokes who give a lot to the world.

Wrexham starting to give me Ellis Short vibes though, at some point they’ll need further investment or it will crash and burn.

Harry Toffolo?

Plenty of experience and has played in the PL recently

Decent left foot, great delivery into the box

Would be cheap
Experienced and out of contract this summer I think. Okay as competition on a 2 year deal I suppose. Not exciting but we probably need five first team signings and five or so competition signings. For the latter we need to be bringing in some free signings to allow us to focus on better first team signings.

I’ve been away for the last few days and not managed to keep my eye on the transfer chatter.

Could anybody summarise the recent rumours and developments?

Toffolo wasn't good enough for relegation battling forest, not sure that's the calibre we would need especially as he's 30 before the season starts
He played a fair bit in their two relegation battling seasons that were, ultimately, successful but only made 7 appearances in total last season. He’s probably decent value and good enough to provide decent competition but no more than that. On a free with a two year contract I think it would be okay if it means more funds available for first choice incomings.

Some great players moving for nothing

Really good player. Played a lot of games CM and is good on ball as well.

Wonder if Marseille fancy selling us Balerdi? We haven’t had an Argie for a while.

They had a beast of a defender on loan from Brest who was PL physicality as well, names escapes me. Wonder what he’s up to <laugh>

Googled him Brassier how did I forget that haha. Looked really decent but couldn’t get passed Belarus and they used Kondogbia CB for his left foot.

Linked very vaguely to a few, but nothing much new really. Today Gray, youngster from Man City linked along with Harry Tofolo.
Neil and Cirkin in new contract talks allegedly.
Jobe still likely to go, tentative rumours about all our youngsters really, as per normal.

Just as a substitute really, id be fine with someone like that coming in but in a position I don't think we need to improve - id want a left back this summer so don't need another backup

Seeing a liverpool fan rave about ekwah’s graphs on twitter. How Sunderland supporters don’t know how good he is etc

Raving about Ekwah's graphs? <laugh>

I love stats and analysis but they're supposed to help you identify what you're seeing on the pitch and project on what's possible.

I'd wager this lad has never watched Ekwah play a full 90 minutes in his life.

Ekwah's ability has never been in doubt imo, he has the capability of being a Premier League player.

His flaws are work rate, concentration levels and awareness of danger. The problem is that they're all mental attributes which the desire to improve needs to come from within. It's not necessarily coachable.

I'm probably missing something here but has he?

Anyway yeah I saw some article about balerdi yesterday but can't remember what it was, something happening with him.

Oxlaide-Chamberlain linked with Leicester on a free.

Looks like he’s been fit and playing in the main is that worth a look for ‘experience’.

Lad can play.
MCL tear 2/3 weeks ago sadly, no luck that bloke

Never understand this sort of view

I don’t support the league, I support Sunderland

How does it impact you if he’s in the English league playing for one of the enemy clubs (and that’s what the other 91 are) vs playing abroad?
For Sunderland at the moment the Premier League is a bit like Formula One. Our fight at the moment is not with the biggest and best teams it is with the teams who are going to be around us
