I still think we’ll see a compromise. We’ll never know for sure as will be undisclosed but I’d bet the reports still end up at 30-35m euro

not all players have release clauses tho. It’s only mandated in Spain due to Spanish employment law
 
The bellinghams have a good relationship with speakman, which is one of the reasons he ended up here and is another reason the whole guaranteed game thing is most likely true.

It's interesting that we are reportedly playing hardball on numbers despite this relationship, would speakman burn that bridge? this is all conjecture but maybe it suits his purpose to now dig his heels in and do whats best for him and sunderland unless there's a third bellingham?

believe its mostly conjecture, fee is probably agreed its just structure in terms of payment and probably bonuses, we probably want more front loaded options

Why would we care about burning the bridge now?

They don’t have any more child-footballing prodigies do they?

Might not be Speakman’s choice. It’s his relationship… not KLD’s.

KLD is big enough and ugly enough to hold out for the 40m euro if he sees fit. Personally I don’t think he will. But KLD isn’t somebody I’d second guess.
