Im 90% certain we’ll both compromise. There’s a chance we hold firm but I only think we will to an extent.
Bear in mind that Dortmunds record transfer I think is 30m euro? They’re very unlikely to pay 40m euro for him. But he may well become their new record signing
But will force Dortmund hands more… they will have to move heaven and earth to get in. basically balls our in our court. Dortmund thought it would be easy and straightforward
While they will want him for the start of the CWC there is a mid-tournament registration window as well at the end of June if this does drag on. Doubt it will though.
Not particularly, it would force our hand more really. They'd just say well he doesn't want to be there so why should we pay a high fee.
Probably £25m upfront, 5m for qualifying for a second season in champions league + 15% sell on will do it.
Jobe staying and signing a new contract would be massive imo. He’s so crucial to our best performances. Don’t make me hope!
⁉️ THE TRANSFER MAY FAIL - Bellingham has already agreed with Dortmund & has also already chosen a number in BVB. HOWEVER, Dortmund and Sunderland have not reached an agreement. It has previously been said that the Bellingham camp & the Championship club had agreed a verbal buyout clause of around €30m. Dortmund are willing to pay €25 +5, but according to Bild Sunderland currently want €40m instead. At the time of writing, the deal may fall apart.
They need to hit the release clause if they want him, though. We’re already compromising by not asking for it all up front.
Tell you what mind his dad is a massive bellend from what I’ve heard from multiple people. Not shocked he’s pushing it
I know he’s going and I’m biased obviously but stand by that if jobe stays for one season it will not impact his career at all. He’s only 19 ffs, give us one more year la
but we also don’t want to be publicly seen to be blocking players making champions league moves when we’re positioning ourselves as a club that develop young talent
I don’t necessarily begrudge the family wanting him out of the PL. I can see the logic in keeping him out of such a potentially toxic environment. However, there was a champ price and there’s a release clause. If Dortmund really want him they’ll get to the right number. If they can’t get there, are they really serious about the lad?
why not? The release clause is just the maximum we can sell for. We can accept lower bids if it’s the right deal for the club
Think he’s got his son’s best interests at heart, whether we agree with it or not. Don’t think he’s a bellend for that.
I expect Romano to tweet saying the deal has broken down in the next 30 mins. That’s KLDs way of calling their bluff from their Bild message
