As I remember, they weren't on form and pressure was probably more on them as they'd crashed out of Europe. However, they were a second quicker both physically and mentally. My point is we have improved since then, though still need to strengthen, and as you say, midfield is key.
It was scary how much better they were in every single department. We were lucky they didn’t get out of second gear

He's been linked to a call up from Greece and pulled out of the Australia squad because of his "club future". All seems a bit convenient to me. Think we might see him move to Greece.
To be fair I was told a couple days ago we were deciding on what to do with triantis so the report of him pulling out due to club future is accurate to me

Triantis has only been called up for Australia mate…

he’s also spoke at length recently about wanting to be called up to the senior team which is why he needs to be playing

I know this, but was linked with a Greece call up last week and pulled out of Aussie squad (unrelated).

He hasn’t made a competitive (or senior) Aussie appearance.

Kind of like Jamal Musiala playing in England youth system and now being Germanys great hope.

Ah fair. Yeah I genuinely do think this pull out is club related mind

Well absolutely his club future is up for grabs but pulling out of a debut international appearance would seem massively counter intuitive to me. You want that recognition to grow your reputation. There's a long summer to worry about future, especially if we wait to see him in pre season.

All just seems a bit convenient to me. Think he's considering his international options as much as his club ones.

Yes he’s massive in dressing room and will provide good depth. But we need a top starter at the back
Be interesting if he's willing to trade being a forgotten squad player at Bournemouth for being a bench/rotation player here. He's got a better route to being a PL starter at SAFC but maybe he'll see being main man somewhere like Sheffield United as a better option?

It will be, but he also received an offer from Both Greece and Australia for this international period.

Think he identifies quite a lot with his Greek side but of course same with Australia, has been pretty pissed off with the Aussie coach for calling him up and never even putting him on the bench.

Yeah I do to mate, that’s why I put unrelated in.

He is listed as ‘of Greek descent’ looking at it looks like they are almost a pure bred Greek family that relocated to Oz (where he was born)

My whole point was if he caps for a European nation it could add value.

What, you think the wording of your post was respectful, or was it a sarcastic shot which looked a bit silly given your facts were off?

I’m going off the premise he is of Greek descent, and was linked to a call up for them in Greece not a week ago.

If you take a shot that’s gone mate, but don’t rule out a ricochet hitting you.

It’s called ‘responding in kind’.

I wouldn't call it "responding in kind"; but we can agree to disagree.
