I havent read a load about it without us being out of the PL. But my understanding is we cant make a ~£100m loss over a three year cycle, starting next season. The Income from the premier league for this year is around £100m from the TV rights but then add on the gates, match day income, merchandise and more lucrative sponsors it will be a hefty amount of income compared to what we currently get. Then add in the proceeds from Jobe and Watson and we have a lot of head room.

Got to factor in the natural wage increase that will be quite significant across the club and any outgoing transfer fees. But I wouldnt be surprised to see us spend around £100m on transfer fees (inclusive of £20m for ELF) and be comfortably under the thresholds. Club might opt to spend a bit less than that and keep things as secure as they can but I think they'll push it as far as they can without putting us under pressure.
Think we’ll have a few assets to sell too if the worst happens, and they have a few good games. Rigg, mayneda etc. sets the club up massively then

Hendo, stassin and Poku links aren’t amazing

didn’t realise Poku was free so as depth would be good and will have resale value

Stassin is good but we don’t need him we need a dominant centre forward

hendo is a good leader but can’t run
I do really like Stassin mind, top teams all over will be wanting him this summer and I'd be on board with him coming here.

Yeah. From a financial perspective we are in an incredible place. Were in a really strong place without promotion but now its really club changing income and not just for the short term.

Think the fans have to get behind what we do this summer, might not be crazy transfer fees people are imagining but as long as the club are having a good go that gives us a chance, we cant complain.

What is the important part is the club spends this income on infrastructure but also on building a squad that if we drop back down will be very confident of finishing in the automatics the year after with stronger foundations to come back up in future years, then we can aim for survival and stability in the prem.

I'd be uncomfortable if we did a Forest and bought 20 players for £150m. If they came back down they were in a really fragile position. Obviously what they did worked but can easily go the other way. All about the balance of not putting us at risk but still keeping us as competitive as possible.

Stassin is a very very good player. But we’ve got Wilson and eli. I want a different profile
Depends on what Saint Etienne are asking really, i wouldnt mind a big lad up top aswell (which i assume is what you mean) but don't know if it really suits how we play.

I think it does, back to goal play is importsnt at times in our system but when we go up having a target man to bring off the bench would be a massive help because I think our two current strikers translate well to the premier league

The Stassin link is made up - it quotes that Joseph Burton (pretend journalist) guy on X in the article

Sunderland enter the race

The club, recently promoted to the Premier League, is looking to sign the young Belgian striker

Paris FC, Lille, Brighton, Brentford, Stuttgart and Benfica also want to attract the Belgian striker ⚽

Who will succeed in recruiting him?

( @ButASSE )

If Brighton. Brentford and Benfica are looking, we should be. Straight facts.

Realistic starting 11

Patto
Hume
Ballard/MEPHAM
GOES
Cirkin

Neil
HENDERSON
Le Fee

FAIVRE
Mayenda
Mundle

Obviously I know people may want more than 3/4 to come straight into the starting eleven. It could be argued that we need 8/9 starters to come in.

FAIVRE played under RLB at Lorient

in addition to these starters we’d still potentially need a No2 GK, a right back, a left back, CM, LW and ST. So overall around 10 signings.

Would be appalled by our recruitment team of a washed up Henderson is anywhere near our first choice CM at the end of the window.

What the **** is the point of all this planning and all that premier league money to just go back to Henderson because he played for us 15 years ago?

Regardless of how bang average he has been since he left Liverpool years ago.
