Sunderland enter the race

The club, recently promoted to the Premier League, is looking to sign the young Belgian striker

Paris FC, Lille, Brighton, Brentford, Stuttgart and Benfica also want to attract the Belgian striker ⚽

Who will succeed in recruiting him?

( @ButASSE )

One thing to bare in mind. We normally go radio silent for a few weeks to let everyone have a break and refresh.

Hope the vacuum doesn't get filled with random bullshit like it normally does. I think they've earned our trust.
Considering it’s been reported that we’ve had our targets long been identified and had two plans ready to go based on the league I wouldn’t be surprised if we were a lot more active early on this time like

Yeah, I'm predicting a fast start. Jobe confirmed quickly and new contracts for our lads to happen in June. We know how much of an uphill task we have so will want to give RLB the best chance. I wouldnt be surprised to see half of our incomings done by the end of June/middle of July. The groundwork will have been already done as you mention.

Especially now we aren’t strangled when it comes to money

Poku - Maybe. Think he may be worth a punt on a free/minimal fee as a backup. We have to be ruthless with our wingers, only one who should be with us next season is Mundle. I know Roberts had a good performance at Wembley but you cannot ignore the previous 2 years. Poveda should be gone soon as well.

Henderson - No. His legs are completely gone, go and watch any Ajax game. How he's been picked for the England squad is absolutely baffling. If he's on a low wage and he's here for purely dressing room reasons, fine. But he wouldn’t be. I'd rather either let Neil find his feet in the PL or go big on a few midfielders.

Stassin - I'm going to go with no. He's talented but i'd rather a different profile of forward.

It's going to be an incredibly busy window for us. For a start we have about 10 players coming back from loans,of which there will likely only be one or two who we wish to retain, all of whom are still in contract,as well as losing 3 players whose loans are terminated.

There’s going to be a whole load more reporting, traffic and rumours concerning us now we’re in the Prem. Unfortunately that means more bullshit nonsense with no foundation.

No nothing about it, but are we close to PSR or anything? I know jobe was going regardless but surely we’re alright. Mag at work saying we can’t spend anything hahah

Hendo, stassin and Poku links aren’t amazing

didn’t realise Poku was free so as depth would be good and will have resale value

Stassin is good but we don’t need him we need a dominant centre forward

hendo is a good leader but can’t run

If we can get Hendo on relatively decent wages I’d take him as a squad player all day. He’s been one of Ajax’s best players this season, if not THE best. Obviously totally different standard of football though.

I’m really torn because these lads absolutely deserve their chance in the PL but the team that started the final would get walloped every game. Plenty of development ahead of them but as of right now most are nowhere near ready. So how many do we add to the group that’s going to allow us to keep a fair chunk of the squad playing but good enough to try and survive?

He’s been far from Ajax’s best player. Any midfield with intensity or pace he’s struggled

I havent read a load about it without us being out of the PL. But my understanding is we cant make a ~£100m loss over a three year cycle, starting next season. The Income from the premier league for this year is around £100m from the TV rights but then add on the gates, match day income, merchandise and more lucrative sponsors it will be a hefty amount of income compared to what we currently get. Then add in the proceeds from Jobe and Watson and we have a lot of head room.

Got to factor in the natural wage increase that will be quite significant across the club and any outgoing transfer fees. But I wouldnt be surprised to see us spend around £100m on transfer fees (inclusive of £20m for ELF) and be comfortably under the thresholds. Club might opt to spend a bit less than that and keep things as secure as they can but I think they'll push it as far as they can without putting us under pressure.

Yeah I completely disagree here. Been solid on the ball but any team that attacked them through the middle got joy because he couldn't move.

I think 7-10 will be the number.
