Whilst we’re all looking forward to some exciting signings hopefully, part of me just wonders how realistic this is. Maybe the likes of Ipswich were forced into the route they went. How attractive is a newly promoted team that is likely fighting near the bottom? This is why Jobe is likely to leave so why do we think Sunderland will be attractive to others? Le Fee may just be an exception because of his relationship with RLB.

Someone tell me not to worry :emoticon-0100-smile

We aren’t Ipswich.

Players watch these videos the playoff scenes were everywhere, all your footy pages constantly post about our away followings, and then there’s the Netflix documentary.

Our profile has remained high, even in League One we were a story, we got way more coverage than Wolves or Leicester did when they dropped 3rd tier.

You have a phenomenal marketing team, stadium and facilities second to very, very few.

We are not Ipswich.

Absolutely mate, it’s wrong on so many levels. And I’d hate for our club to follow the route of the mags and look there for investment, I’d hate for them to be involved with our club. Went to see the Sunderland story at the empire and it just encapsulates everything we have to be proud about the team we love, a proper working class club and it would stain that for me.

I don’t really know where I sit with Henderson to be honest, I do think he’s a massive hypocrite for going there but I also don’t know how I’d react if I was offered the same.
I would never want to be owned by them if it happened yes the club would win things, but it doesn’t make it right.

however, despite Hendo being a hypocrite I’ll never judge a player for going there and setting up their family for life.

that’s why we work ultimately. They get bigger spotlight because of being premier league footballers but if I was offered the same and guarenteed my family that life id do the same too.

I do judge him for it but equally accept imperfections.

Don't worry, we were able to attract championship calibre players like - Pritchard, Evans, Batth and Roberts to L1. Hume joined us in L1 despite there being Championship interest. Cirkin turned down a good deal at Spurs to join when we in L1. Able to sign Ballard when most of the championship wanted him despite us being newly promoted. Mayenda turned down the big clubs in France to come play for us in the championship. Aleksic joined despite some big German clubs being after him. Le fee joined us in the championship despite top Europe clubs being after him.

We will attract quality players for sure, we target the players who have room to grow and that will open the door to plenty of players

If we’re shopping abroad the wages we will be able to offer compared to even some of the best teams in France for arguments sake (minus PSG) will be more than competitive. And that’s what it comes down to a lot of them time, we can sell the project to them of course but players go for money more often than love of the game.

It’s true, but I also think people want to test themselves in the best league. I don’t think they come just for the money.

I think due to taxation etc there are leagues where players actually see more of the money than the PL.

Mad really, had I been good enough I’d have been ‘start Sunderland, go somewhere I can win a PL, SOMEWHERE HOT, end Sunderland’

I’d go somewhere with really fit women.

With Amad,

its apparently because they were calling him derogatory names and referring to him as surname, which he doesnt like, as his surname has heavy links to bad people back in Ivory Coast, so he wants to remove himself from all of that, so only goes by Amad,
