Pretty sure he was offered a new deal. Seems to have turned it down for now, after an earlier promise of a new deal was withdrawn.
I’d agree on that, and also agree it’s hard to fathom why. Maybe we tarnishing Bade for Sevilla bad season unfairly. He doesn’t carry the ball as well as Diakite, and I think that’s massively appealing for PL.
I have to say Ghisolfi is absolutely relentless ... ... he's like a pump-action shotgun. Someone drops out and he's straight onto the next one ... boom boom boom!
Gabriel-Saliba by a distance VVD-Konate Dias- whoever’s fit Chelsea multiple combos Theoretically VDV-Romero I’d have them close after that, who’d be next maybe Villa with Pau-Konsa? Not miles from that.
Colossal blow for them if Isak leaves for the desert. Not just as he is their best player. If he goes to Saudi they'll get enough cash to replace him or close to. Hard to see it happening, as such a move would directly imply that the Saudis have shifted their priorities to football in the desert. There'd be no coming back from that.
Knowing this window we’re all geared up around centre backs and then BANG we’ll get a “hear we go” on a keeper I’ve never heard of tomorrow
Aye but they haven’t signed Scalvini. Botman is quality but he is so slow over first 5 yards. Wonder why they don’t go get Tomori balance that out. Glad they haven’t frankly.
I do think (although the general consensus is French and English speaking) it's quite interesting how Spanish speaking lucumi would be paired with Spanish/French speaking Reinildo. The club obviously want players around each other on the pitch to have good communication - so a French/Spanish speaking goalkeeper seems logical if it isn't English.
Tbf I think schar has one more year at a good level but 2 years ago those 2 would be one of the best partnerships imo.
The difficulty is replacing Isak, there isn’t a like for like player. Etikike was closest to that. So then it’s are they changing their shape and approach, but that’s been their strength that balance in midfield and how it’s linked to the front 3. It blows them apart if they lose Isak for me, also gives the impression any e can be taken away from there.
@Scout73 mentioned earlier he would love to know what our budget is. I know this might sound mad, but I’m not sure there is one. It’s a cash flow issue. We need to bring a number of transfers, and be able to sell a portion of them for profit within 3 years. What really matters is the percentage chance they increase in value, and their approx max/min value limits. Someone like Loic Bade is in the French squad, aged 25, good physical profile, ghisolfi knows his character already from Lens, he’s been successful in the French and Spanish league. His chances of failing are low, and it would be shocking if we couldn’t sell him for 20 mil in a year. He potentially could be a 60 mil centre half if he did well. it’s what makes me optimistic that we might able to afford x2 elite centre halves if we can convince them to join
Maybe, Schar hasn’t ever been top end though, and we talking about now. What’s clear is a combo of 2 of the 3 linked would absolutely be top 10 PL pairing. To think Bournemouth has Huijsen-Zabarnyi last season makes it seem more plausible.
There is a limit on what we can spend mate PSR doesn’t start again we still have to have obliged to PSR by the end of this year
