What's worse is that he presented an offer for Lucumi, which according to rumors should be around 16-17 million plus bonuses up to 20. The offer is considered low, but that's not the only point. Bologna spoke to the defender, communicating the intention to extend the contract expiring to 2027 (Bologna has already asserted the unilateral option for the extension of the contract from 800 thousand euros per season, which originally expired in 2026 with an option to 2027) until 2029, with the opening to discuss a loud adjustment of the contract, which would be doubled.

Now the ball is in the hands of Lucumi who within 7-10 days will have to communicate to Bologna if he intends to sit down at the table to discuss it.

In case of a negative answer, it cannot be ruled out that Bologna agrees to negotiate with Sunderland to get, including bonuses, the figure of about 25 million set for the Colombian after the expiration of the 28 million clause: admitted and not granted that Lucumi considers the Sunderland project attractive, given that in the summer he had presented himself with the intention of eventually leaving Bologna only for a club that guaranteed him Europe.

Bologna would not want to redo the entire central axis of the defense and for this reason it hopes to convince Lucumi to stay, after losing Beukema, who yesterday supported the medical examinations for Napoli at Villa Stuart in Rome, and then sign a five-year of 2.5 million per season and join Conte's team in Dimaro's retirement.

While I agree in some aspects,and this is only speculation,I think they have a point, they were there in the dark days of leauge one, help get us to the Premier league and new players or on more money once the "hard yards" have been done. Some could argue Dan and Den don't have real Premier league experience, but the same could be said for 90 percent of the new lads. Then there's reports of Rigg potentially going to be the highest paid teen in the Premier league, I'm not surprised some of the lads are thinking "hold on a minute". All I my opinion ofcourse.

I get really annoyed away from this forum when I try to give opinions on players to friends and just get the ‘you’ve never even seen them play man’ ‘I’ll wait til they’re in the premier league’

It's like when fans ask " how do Brentford/Brighton find these players then sell them for 50, 60, 70 million"

Probably coz they're not signing Sean Longstaff / Robert Snodgrass / Sammie Szmodics

Aye it’s such a lazy line. I know loads of us on this forum watch hours of footy from loads of leagues.

I mean we often in the non Sunderland games thread discussing it.

Should be able to get to that fee including bonuses, don't know if the club will think there's better for that price range

fee definitely seems doable but I am sceptical he’d come here. Everything I’ve read suggests he wants European football.

Cant say we’re not aiming high though and we absolutely should try to convince him.

Aye. Said a couple of days ago it looked like a convenient story for everyone to have in the media. Bit of an underhand way of carrying on but a good example of why best taking everything with a pinch of salt in a tfr window. 95% in the modern media is likely nonsense.

I don’t know numbers mate. Just know that was the hold up in the championship that he wanted the prem numbers before we’d get promoted

I’d imagine it’s gone up a level now
