Summer Transfer window

Yeah, I knew my piss-taking comment would have you rattled into a novella-writing pique, Bambs!
<laugh>

... that you think a 3 sentence response is a Novella, Quents, only goes to confirm that you have a rather tenuous grasp of the English language ... and I really don't think you rattle anyone these days Quents ... you seem to get a number of sympathy posts from kindred Spuds and have Aunty Sky diving in every time you are getting rag dolled ... other than that you are about as significant as a beer fart in a clarted up pig pen ... but don't stop trying Quentin ... you never know <laugh> <cheers>

... scored 14 goals from midfield last season ... bit of a baller ... Norwich fans seem to think he's the real deal ... sort of creativity we've certainly lacked in central midfield ...cautiously optimistic on this one.

So far, we've done some fair busines:
Maddison £24m
Ricardo Pereira £24m
Jonny Evans £3m (which is a bit of a steal at that price tbf)

Madison looks a prospect for sure. £24m seems a hell of a lot for a full back who's being kept out of his national team by Cedric though.

Market rates ... Liverpool paid £75 million for a Dutch defender ffs <doh> ....

Puel had Pereira at Lyon so knows him ... plus the £24 includes all the add-ons <cheers>

Purl definitely staying then?

Just saying it seems high because Cedric isn't exactly top draw.

Would seem so - think he deserves to have a crack with some of his own players in -

Some players seem to be shoe-ins fo their international teams (and play very well for them) even when they don't seem all that in the EPL - can't really comment on Cedric, I don't see enough of him <ok>

Chapter 5...

The Leicester board - apart from Maddison - we only signed him yesterday - happy to help <ok>

no it was more about your HIAG-esque boistrousness every transfer window.

Here's some gems mate <ok>

2016

... Musa, Mandy, Kaputska and Hernandez could all force their way into the team ... as could Gray and Amartey for that matter ... Mendy was our first choice dfensive mid before Kante ... yes Kante then had a phenomenal season ... I'd go as far as saying that Musa is the most exciting striker acquisition by any EPL team over the close season ... United fans may say Ibrahimovic but let's face it, he's only here for a last pay cheque and is on the way down career wise ...

... must be very exciting for you to contemplate James Milner's performances at left-back <laugh>

2017

... it's that kind of spending that's behind my point that we currently have the best squad in our history

Adrien Silva £22 million, Vicente Iborra £15 million, Harry Maguire £17 million, Wilf Ndidi £17 million ... as I've been saying ... our owners are not short of a bob or two ....

2016

2017

Mendy's out on loan and could yet come back as he was successful under Puel previously - Kaputska's out on loan but seems to have attitude issues - Everton are reportedly interested in Musa as are Galatasaray - looked a different player when back at CSKA Moscow (on loan) this season than he did for us (but we never really gave him a chance in his proper position because of Vardy - which is understandable)

Silva, Maguire and Ndidi have all played for their countries in this world cup - iborra had a very good first season for us (as did Maguire).

Some gems indeed Bobby lad <laugh>

Can I also say that I am immensely flattered that you would take the time out to go through my back posts mind <cheers>

You're welcome. I just find it amusing optimistic you are every transfer window and believe your players to be world beaters.

Delusions of HIAG indeed.

You misunderstand me Bobby ... I'm not overly optimistic in general ... just used to our record signing up to our 2015 season being Ade Akinbyi for £5 million ... so the players and prices I've mentioned are almost akin to winning the lottery for us Leicester fans <laugh> ... there is every cause for thinking that the aditions I mentioned will imrove us .... <ok>

This one is ****ing hilarious

"I'd go as far as saying that Musa is the most exciting striker acquisition by any EPL team over the close season ... United fans may say Ibrahimovic"

Glad I read ahead I was about to highlight that bit hahaha <rofl>

Nothing wrong with that 2017 statement tbf, 3 of the 4 are still starters with the other on the bench.

It was a bad 2016 window (bar Slimani), i guess our scouts were thrown seeming they weren't expecting us to win the league :bandit:

No fan of any club is going to admit that they've had a bad transfer window without hindsight.

that it's your best squad ever? Not sure i agree with that.

You boys are spending a lot of money though so i guess that does give you some optimism that the players you are buying are good.

I'm not too excited by your new boys though although i guess you've needed to upgrade on simpson for a while now (whether that rb is any good or not though....)

Simsons a solid RB whos been told not to overlap with Mahrez to stop defenders suffocating him for the past few season, so he did his job.

With Mahrez on his way, we needed fresh legs down that wing to overlap with whoever we replace him with, will change our style no doubt, but need to stop relying on Mahrez brillliance and involve more players in buildup play, which hopefully is what Maddison can provide.

We are having to evolve away from the sit back and counter side we have been to be better with the ball, this started last window with signings that were more comfortable in possession.

I guess the spending is based on Mahrez moving on, which i think most fans have come to terms with, but he still won't be sold on the cheap.

As for best ever squad, its hard to say, i'd say since the premier league came in, the other squad that could be considered "best ever" had Robbie Savage in it, so its not like we've had much better than what we have now.
