Surely we'll be making a signing soon if Neil says he wants four in. Waiting until the end of the transfer window we'll have played about 7 games by then.

Is he an out and out striker, or does he play wide too? Has plenty Championship experience so could fit the bill - we need to build a squad with genuine options - it made the difference for Coventry on Sunday
Plays across the front 3 or 10 I think I remember being impressed they got him but he didn’t exactly set the place alight there

Can't see this having any legs. He signed for Ipswich July last year and made 39 appearances last season, scoring 9 goals. Not a great goal scoring record for a striker, but he must have some good attributes to have featured in that many games.
Good player but no better than we have imo

Plays like a 10. Not dissimilar to Broadhead in a way, finishing not as clinical but less time in an MRI scanner.

Also, Chaplin has played close to 100 games in the Championship. Something Broadhead is yet to experience. This signing could tick a lot of boxes

We didn't sign Hutchison (who isn't really a Newcastle fan although his family are) from Newcastle, and he'd never played for them. Colback was ours and suddenly became a "massive toon fan" when he signed for them (despite trying to get out of that same contract when West Ham offered him more money)

Other than Clark and Chopra, the only other NUFC fan I can remember us signing is Danny Graham and he was......well, just ****e

I take your point, but I think if we ever want to get back to competing with the mags, then signing mags isn't the way to do it. It maybe be short sighted, it may be parochial but I just think it's a terrible idea
Hutch is a good mate, he deffo is not a mag. we had a bit carry on in Numcastle quayside a good few years back with some scum clowns he proved where his feelings were on this blokes face.

I would rather have someone fit and firing for midfield than another problem child that's could be great but needs 3 months to get upto speed.

But that might be the difference between 500k and £5m.
