I’m not shes how many experienced goalkeepers will come to us knowing they’re likely to be back up to Patterson. Two youngish keepers trying to make their way in the game might be all the competition they need

 

im not Speakman’s biggest fan but I’m happy with what he has to say here. He’s spot on that we can’t just go and splash cash like we used to.

Id much rather have a “lower reputation” plucky underdog style to our team next season than go out and spend money and look like idiots when we finish 15th and get sucked into the issues clubs like Birmingham and Stoke have.

 

I'd like to think that our reputation would be as shrewd operators rather than plucky underdogs. It maybe hasn't immediately seemed like it but, with one or two exceptions, the recruitment people seem to have found value in the transfer market. Bringing in people like Roberts, who's careers had maybe gone off track a little and, despite it ultimately not working out for him, bringing in players like Emmenike from clubs like Leatherhead show that we've got broad horizons on that front.

KLD has a massive knowledge of world football, and many contacts throughout Europe.

He will have a heavy influence on future targets, that's for sure...

ha to be fair I don't think he's ever promised them. it was dumb and dumber chatting nonsense.

 

Think it wasore down to fatigue as AN stated not long after he was appointed that some players needed resting and a few weeks later DN also spoke of being tired and needed the break. Then I think his game time has been slowly restored to stop him burning out and to allow him to develop properly

I’m in agreement we need an experienced keeper. Pat has been brilliant but the step up is huge.

Be looking at PL back up keepers like Butland or Darlow if it was me.
