Their goal did come down our left, but there were more people than just Neil at fault. We let runners go, onien watched as both Tarikwa and Keane went passed him. Both played a part in the goal. He was clearly targeted though and the sooner we sign a lb the better
Covering elsewhere imo. Also flannagan needs replacing. Once 3 starting defenders brought in (and hopefully a couple of back ups) we've potential to rip this league upOur central defenders left players free, on the edge of the area, three times one of which resulted in the goal.
That can happen when no one follows the runner. Neil pulled out to the winger as the fb went up the inside. Neil couldn't make up the ground to stop the cross. Seems to be the modern way with crosses. Let the come in from wide as its a low % chance of scoring, rather than say a pull back. Totally agree with needing a settled back 4 with two actual fbsTrue others at fault but if decent lb in the cross doesn't happen. For my entire life the mantra is stop the cross strop the goal. Other plate pulled out of positon helping fullbacks too. We'll be so much better off with a settled defence. 3 starters needed imo. All great teams built with good defences.

There is nothing concrete to say we are even in for this feller never mind that we’ve failed to seal the deal. Too many people getting worked up around things that may not even be happening. If this is the case then I’m sorry but this does not look good on the recruitment team, especially with the rumours (whether true or false) about trying for players and failing
Was better than his normal standard but he's not the answer imo. Squad player at best imoI'm not knocking Flanagan. Thought he did his bit yesterday.
We do need a proper LB. But, Dan Neil won the ball back for us to win the pen so in that sense, he got us back in the game.Other sides will target him for 90 mins and he'll be caught out for more than 1 goal ( their goal came from his side). It's madness to leave him their. A proper lb is a priority and must be signed asap
I'd change the full 11 for Tuesday. Not arsed about the league cup one bit.We need to get the U23 full backs into the first team for Tuesday. See how they get on.
No need for panic. We've got a 17 year old kid at centre half and he did just fine. It's League One.
I’ve got him ignore and I only put people on ignore it they are really bad so for that reason he can gan to ****e !the poster is Sundered Land. Does anyone know if he hears good stuff?
So hard to tell who is a WUM. He doesn’t seem to be
He was murdered in first half. If he won one ball great but he didn't set up the goal. Maybe once he's in his position he will later on season and actually win us gamesWe do need a proper LB. But, Dan Neil won the ball back for us to win the pen so in that sense, he got us back in the game.
Dead right tbf, pretty much what this window has done to people, myself includedThere is nothing concrete to say we are even in for this feller never mind that we’ve failed to seal the deal. Too many people getting worked up around things that may not even be happening.
Played well yesterday did Flanagan. Solid.I'm not knocking Flanagan. Thought he did his bit yesterday.
To be fair we havr no idea if we have struggled to close deals as we dont know who we have actually been in for, other than names linked on social media and in the pressWould anyone be surprised? We’ve massively struggled to close deals this summer.
Not sure about that. Got caught out a few times but got better second half and ultimately we won. He is desperate to play this lad, no matter where he plays
Your right. Time for Acton now for good of clubs future.dan neil cannot be held responsible for that goal mind, it was a combination of a few errors by several players.
dan neil is doing a good job filling in there but at the end of the day he has more of a midfielders mindset than a defenders and that is the problem just as it was with onien, who also did a sterling job in defence but both became a target.
while i have been happy enough to wait for 'the right player' if this latest deal has also fallen through it is starting to look like a problem...either that or people are just pulling names out of a hat as they also seem to be taking forever until they apparently fall through, then pull another name out.
They got in down both sides in the first half, not just the left. It's different to Winchester playing RB. Dan Neil is an inexperienced right footed CM being asked to play LB, he won't get much protection from Mcgeady (no full back would). Winchester is more experienced at first team level and has played RB before and has a massive grafter in Gooch in front of him. Did Dan Neil get beat a few times? Yes he did. Did he grow into the game and give everything? Yes he did. Will he get better? Yes he will. I'd rather have him playing than McfadzeanHe was murdered in first half. He certainly did. The ball down the right wing for Winchester then on to Gooch was a class move. Keeper to their box in 3 passesPlayed well yesterday did Flanagan. Solid.
