Sorry in advance if this has already been posted.......... DS WS STEVE MCCLAREN DELIVERS IMPORTANT TRANSFER UPDATE FOR QPR please log in to view this image Published 16 hours ago on 14/06/2018 By George Dagless please log in to view this image Steve McClaren has told QPR fans to not expect many signings this summer as he aims for quality over quantity. The R’s were too inconsistent for a play-off surge last season with their away form, in particular, letting them down. If they could improve that, though, they might be able to mount a top-six charge next season and it seems as though their new manager does not feel much is needed this window. As quoted by West London Sport, he said: “We need to add quality not quantity. There won’t be a lot.” These comments might divide fans. Whilst some will be pleased that the club is going for quality, others might decide that this sounds like the club aren’t going to do much in the window. Certainly, all will now be hoping that McClaren and the club can deliver ‘quality’ players but with FFP still a factor they might be limited. There’ll be a bit of a stink if they don’t deliver, that’s for sure. The Verdict In theory, this isn’t such a bad update but these comments can’t be hiding the idea that the club just isn’t going to sign many. The R’s aren’t flush with cash but still need to strengthen and now McClaren has said this, quality players will need to arrive.
I'd be happy to have one or two quality signings, to enhance the younger playing group we are already have. Sounds fair.
Quality over quantity Sounds like a good plan But can we buy lots of midfielders anyway It's what we do
I like what he has to say...It wasn't that long ago that we had too many wasters on our books. Keep the squad small and hungry. Sadly Hollow didn't know how to use the squad properly. I believe that Stcheev will do good for us.
Still no news on Robinson, assume he's off but you'd think it would be a quick and early bit of business if anyone wanted him.
It says something about our Summer transfer activity when the thread has not had a post for a week and slips onto to the second page of threads! I don't want wholesale changes but we need a few replacements for our leavers and I would like to see some activity in the market, even if it is only the odd rumour.
I guess McClaren is waiting to see who’s going to win the World Cup and Golden Boot before making bids for all the top stars sweating it out in Russia.
Has there been no news about Robinson yet (or have I missed it?) is he still one of our players? Has his contract expired? Has he been signed by someone else?
He was offered a contract at the end of the season which he refused to accept. He has been given a deadline of the 22nd of June (today) to sign it. I think he'll be off then and heard that Fulham are looking to sign him.
Mass hasn’t set the World Cup alight yet - 0 mins in 2 games - not much time in the shop window. Whereas the youngest player - Arzani - has gained much attention with 2 sub appearances.
Portuguese youngster Hugo Cardoso has signed a one-year extension to his QPR contract. The 19-year-old forward, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the month, made five appearances for Rangers’ development side last season and is expected to feature more during the coming campaign.
