We scraped Championship survival in 17, did marginally better in 18 and have now lost three of our best players.

Is Steve so much better than Holloway that he can improve our position with what we have left?

The sale of Smithies for the reported £3-4M smacks of desperation to me.

Come on Tony, give us some nugget of hope (a new signing, a sniff of a new signing, a hint of a budget for a new signing) that we might be able to compete in the Championship next season.

Very good point but we are a selling club again out of necessity. Hopefully our scouting system and recruitment policy will keep unearthing gems.
 
Seem to remember Martin having a couple of great seasons for Derby? 20+ goals a season a couple of years back, although seems to have been shipped out on loan and out of favour more recently.

If he comes to us he will get a lot of service from our kids...he will do fine...

Yeah, maybe I'm being a bit harsh, he did pretty well at Derby for a couple of seasons. Not so good since being shipped out on loan, though. Just not a potential signing to get excited about, it seems to me.
