When he was about 16? This guy is 27. You can’t compare the two situations. I’ve seen enough of him to make an informed opinion. He’s a low end championship, top half of league 1 standard player. Good luck to the lad if he does move. He’s been very loyal to our club and we would all like to see him do well.
It's not a complete fantasy though is it? Eze could be Man City quality, the way he's playing and improving...
Obviously it would be great news for us but I’d love to see him play around players of that level. Even at Palace most of them aren’t on his wavelength especially with Olise injured.
Fodan, Grielish, Palmer, aswell as many others, can't see space for him in that team. Can't be long until a bigger club comes knocking though.
They’re playing Alvarez in De Bruyne’s position now so I think it’s plausible. Over a 60 game season he’d play plenty I’m sure. Kovacic is getting a game and he’s not all that. The bench in their last game was inexperienced and Guardiola made no subs despite a tough game midweek.
Foden played in De Bruyne's position last game and gave a masterclass. Alvarez playing just behind Haaland or sometimes up with him. Pep loves Grealish now so he'll be playing most games and Alvarez would start as a number 9 in any other team every week. The player they need to replace the most is Gundagun, a key component in their all conquering team. They brought in Kovacic from scum but he isn't in Gundoguns league especially when it comes to scoring. Just don't see Eze as a Pep player, De Bruyne is a one off and the best player in the league when fully fit !
A player with Eze's ability is definitely a Pep player imo. I do agree that he may not get too many games. Watching the fantastic performance by Foden against Toon, playing in place of De Bruyne, I'm not sure where else he could play. Don't think he would be played in the Alvarez position.
Bit worrying. Apparently GA said today when asked about further signings "Probably not but we'll see" "I'm really happy with where we are". Surely even with the slight wave of positivity we can't believe this squad is enough?
If the club coach blew up and he and Dozzell were the only survivors he’d say he believed in the group and is optimistic for what’s to come. It’s just his schtick. He knows the squad is desperately thin.
