If they're placing this offer then I'm happy with it. I fully trust the club's judgement, personally I'd think it was too high but they're in a better position to decide than I am. We know Nicola isn't stupid and he'd only invest if he thought it was right so I'd support it completely.

Probably 6 million in installments. Shows that we have money and mean business if true. Doubt we will go higher, so its just a matter of nibbling away at their resolve.
There's talk of him being Brum's first keeper...he may be good but that's a little early...they probably have little choice. Wonder what they have to do to get their transfer embargo lifted...is it related to several debts or one. And does it stop them getting loans in...nothing seemed to stop Pompey.

Sky Sports News calling it "Breaking News" now. £6m bid rejected. No details on the make up of that offer; more to follow during the day.

Our "invest in youngsters" policy is certainly coming through. If we survive season one, then we could have one hell of a future. I get the impression that Saints must be peeved that Butland got in the England squad as we never do anything in a rush, so must have been watching him a lot last season. Him getting in that squad has added to the hype and the number of millions.

6m for Butland is over priced IMHO, too much uncertainty over him to invest that much into him. Birmingham would be stupid to reject that.

Assuming a good proportion of that is based on appearances/etc, then it could turn out to be a very good deal. I wonder what will happen now, we seem very keen on him but there has to be an upper limit to what we will offer...

I'd have to agree. If we have a quality keeper sorted for the next 10-15 years then £6m is a bargain.

Not trying to be arrogant but he'd be a fool to turn us down to stay at Birmingham.

I agree with this.

Financially uncertainty at Brum or move to a developed club on the up, in the Prem and with a huge reputation of developing young players <whistle>
