Yeah true, unless it's somebody really good (as in clearly better than all four of them) then there's just no point adding to it when all four of them will, we assume, be contending for starting spots.

I don't think we really have a backup for Lallana. We'd be pretty lost without him at present.

That is part of the reason I was surprised to see us linked with Best. Not one that I would want back in a hurry. About the only player pre-Liebherr I wouldn't mind coming back would be Surman and that is mainly due to him being a real Saints fan (I wouldn't say no to Bale or any of that ilk but I was talking realistic chance of coming back).

Would like to see us linked to more keepers and defenders but nothing comes up on newsnow.
