    Whenever I see that we're linked with a striker, I want to put my foot through the screen. We have Lambert, Sharp, Lee, Rodriguez. Why would we want to add to that?

    Yeah true, unless it's somebody really good (as in clearly better than all four of them) then there's just no point adding to it when all four of them will, we assume, be contending for starting spots.

    I don't think we really have a backup for Lallana. We'd be pretty lost without him at present.

    that's what I was thinking, its either the end of Harding, a back up to Lallana or possibly this may mean Lallana moves in behind the striker.........if this deal goes through, obviously!!

    That is part of the reason I was surprised to see us linked with Best. Not one that I would want back in a hurry. About the only player pre-Liebherr I wouldn't mind coming back would be Surman and that is mainly due to him being a real Saints fan (I wouldn't say no to Bale or any of that ilk but I was talking realistic chance of coming back).

    Would like to see us linked to more keepers and defenders but nothing comes up on newsnow.
