Don't really know much about this lad, my knowledge of other teams players get worse.

Feels to me like a Roberts or Clarke signing, player has lost his way a bit and we have picked him up and will give him the environment to get back to his best.

As with all of the lads they get my full support and I hope he absolutely smashes it

We seem to be good at spotting these players, you could say the same about Ballard, Cirkin and other underperforming players. I have to say though I'd noticed we're one of the few teams without arms covered in tattoos and blond highlights ...

... Connolly blows that out of the water <laugh>

I trust speakmans judgement (he won't get everything right) on connely, there's a good ethos at the club whitch comes from the top,the young pros see good professionals ballard, browne ,onien training and conducting themselves correctly, imo if any young pros don't show the right attitude doesn't matter how talented they are , if they don't shape up they will be gone,no player is bigger than the club.

Have you seen Cirkin and Clarke (not so much clarke anymore) haha

You're spot on with that.

They're either very ambitious or desperate to succeed as they're heading towards their thirties. They won't take kindly to someone coming in who's not totally committed.

I suspect that's already happened with the likes of Ekwah.

It was noticeable how friendly and decent was the departure of Clarke ...

... there's clearly a great team spirit, which you just can't buy.

Only two survived
Mind you,it is 5 years ago!

Aye if someone had said 5 years ago we O'Nien would still be in the team while we sat in second place in the championship you would think they had gone nuts! Not many would expect him to push and end improve everytime there has been a step up or a challenge. True professional!

Only two I would have maybe picked out as potentially still being about is Patterson and Embleton. O'Nien in hindsight was the right age to improve and the change of position has helped, not sure he would still be there if he hadn't moved to cb.

Good post mate. I remember watching Luke when he first appeared for us...as a midfielder...he struggled and I didn't rate him. But,what we've seen since is a testament to his professionalism, his dedication, his skills and as an example to our young players. I hope he stays in our dressing room for a few years yet.....these younger players need him....not that he's old by any means.
Every so often we seem to attract a player not from our region, who we fall in love with and vice versa. Benno,Bally and now O9 spring to mind.

Must remember about Luke he signed after playing attacking midfield for Wycombe

a Wycombe side that played physical. He was required to win tackles, win aerial duels high up for flick ons. Basically do a lot of defensive style plays whilst in midfield.

so I’m not surprised he adapted to CB
