You're right, he's not a problem and adds depth elsewhere, but there was a certain level of appeasement by a great number of people to label Isidor as an out and out 9 to suggest we'd addressed that position.

We failed as you mentioned to secure a 9, again, rightly or wrongly, whether Mayenda is doing a good job or not.

yes - the fact Mayenda has come good has been relatively lucky. That’s not to diminish the good scouting done on him in the first place, nor the good coaching from RLB and Co this season, but I don’t think anyone could have predicted he’d turn this good this quickly after not getting into Hibs’ team last season

Don't kid myself? Only one striker has more goal contributions than him this season. He's also at the top end of ball recoveries for strikers in the division. He is a real striker and he's doing a great job.

You've missed the point, regardless of how well the lads doing, they failed to sign a 9 and the fact they chased a number of them and this chase was accompanied with alleged significant fees attests to this.

The lads had a cracking start and has played a big part in our RLB renaissance but it's revisionism to suggest he was the man they wanted leading the line come the end of the summer.

I'm a bit gutted by this signing if I'm being honest. We've got such a good group and it wouldn't take much to disrupt that and Connolly's reputation in that regard precedes him. Mind, I have faith that the club will have weighed it all up, done their due diligence and must be confident it won't be an issue.

Le Bris struggled with the players with bad attitude at Lorient and it was part of his downfall by all accounts.

Report in the Echo saying the club have no interest in signing him.

On the fence with this one mainly because his attitude is meant to be shocking

He does have a bit about him as a player tho and fits our style of play. He was a player with high potential as a youngster n lost his way a bit (scored 8 last season is still good), we have signed those kind before (roberts n pritchard) who have done well

Hes a great signing for you imo
He has prem level talent but his head is a bit bonkers

Saw him few months ago and he looked like hed done a lot of work in the off season in the gym

I wanted us to resign him

If hes loved, he will most likely be your top scorer

Worth free agent chance

think the challenge with him will be getting and then staying fit.

Completely missed this link. He is a very good player imo. A genuine threat in the box with clever movement. Quick as well.

No idea on his attitude tbh. I think he had a few problems early at Brighton. That said he played a fair bit for them and looked good as a young un I thought. Was it Potter who had him there? Would have been part of a very good squad. Maybe he has grown up a bit since then? I trust the club to have done their due dilligence on him, if he does indeed sign, and I will look forward to seeing how he gets on.

I haven't missed your point. You said imagine our side with a real striker, that implies Mayenda is not a real striker when in reality he's doing a better job for us than most other strikers in the league are doing.

I'm not participating in revisionism, I've criticised the club heavily for the failure to sign a striker. Connolly is at least a striker.

What have you heard about his attitude? I've heard nothing of him.

Significant word you used..."alleged". You've no idea.
If we'd have won 1 out of 6 instead of 5 out of 6....you'd be entitled to your criticism of our recruitment. As it stands, imo, you're falling a good way short.
