I've already seen people calling for KLD to sell up on the back of this 'news'. Saying it's obviously down to penny pinching in wages and he's pocketing the Clarke money. I don't even know where to start with things like that.
There's a part of me hopes that these bellends get the club they deserve tbh.

It’s a joke that agreements can be reached with the player before the club. I know we do the same thing as well, but it doesn’t sit right with me.
Na club gets permission to discuss personal terms get that sorted and know you can sign the player before caring about what Sunderland want for him

Interesting that @John Wick ’s info was wrong or at the best out of date. Not having a dig. But he said Simic had chosen us and it was down to the clubs. Things can’t have moved that quickly.
@John Wick said he's happy with what we have to offer, not that he had chosen us. He may have been happy with what Cardiff had to offer too and they came to an agreement with RB Salzburg quicker than we could.

Might get pelters for this.

If Mundle plays at LW now and we have Mayenda/Isidore as our main strikers, is that the worst thing ever? I would like another striker, but it's not super critical imo.
Back to square one if Isidor gets injured. He’s also evidently the cover for LW

It's not the crisis you're reading about on X and on RTG but we could do with another CF.

As others have said I will judge things at 11pm tomorrow.

This could still end up being our best window in recent memory. It could also end up being one of the worst.

If we don’t get a striker I’m afraid there’s no defence of Speakman. You can say things change last minute but you need to safeguard against that. Selling Clarke relatively cheaply and not using the money after a good start is indefensible.

But that only matters come 11pm tomorrow. I have confidence / faith / hope, however misguarded, that we get who we need tomorrow.
Yes and no. The truth of the matter is that football fans these days are becoming obsessed by the wrong things. It's all transfers and ambition. All of these things are byproducts. They may well increase our chances of success, but it's also possible they don't. If we sign nobody else this summer but we go up has Speakman failed? Is there really NO defence of him if we continue to win games? On the flipside, if we do go out and spend every penny of the Clarke money in the remainder of the window (and then some) but go on to finish 9th, will our fanbase remain unwavering in their view that spending was Speakman doing the 'right' thing - and keep the pitchforks in the cupboard?

As asked previously…

Mundle - Isidor - Roberts

OR

Clarke - Mayenda - Roberts

Easy decision imo. We need reinforcements.
