I'd love us to sign a starting centre half and have O'Nien as cover for every single defensive positionWe have to bring in a full back! Otherwise we are left with 6 defenders for 4 positions, that is very light!!
100% - footballers are real people and they put down roots. Being close to "home" and family/friends is an important thing to consider. My ITK mate insisted, this was last summer mind, that Clarke would stay for this very reason. I do feel things are different now, he had a great season last season and he can probably triple his wages easily with pretty much any Premiership club.
His family are still in York, he can get down the A1 in a bit over an hour when it's quiet, and he does that regularly. That counts for something, not everything, but something and I'm quite sure geography (as well as wages) will play some part in where he signs.
RLB has already said we won't be signing a RBWe have to bring in a full back! Otherwise we are left with 6 defenders for 4 positions, that is very light!!
This Simic deal really is exciting, isn’t it. Can’t claim to have seen the lad play, but to have champions league goal, assist and MOTM under his belt is pretty impressive. Hopefully we get it over the line and enjoy watching him playing for the lads soon…
Romano 'here we go' tweet in 10.....9.....8.....If sky sports are reporting it’s usually because it’s at the business end
Wonder if we get one from downie about IsidorIf sky sports are reporting it’s usually because it’s at the business end
Don't quote me on this, but I think player exchanges still have to have a monetary value placed on each player. So (for example) Clarke would be valued at £25m and someone like Broadhead at £7m and we'd still have to pay Spurs 25% of the £25mNow this is me just spitballing and thinking outside of the box.
Could we accept money plus a player for Clarke? It would obviously reduce our fee but also Spurs' cut plus we'd also get someone in.

O'Nien is was of the first names on the team sheet, he's a very good playerI'd love us to sign a starting centre half and have O'Nien as cover for every single defensive position
If they didn't do this, then it could be seen as tax avoidance or attempting to navigate the FFP rules.Ah, never knew that.
Disagree, last few seasons have seen us desperately short at centre half. Think We’ve played Hume, O’Nien, Cirkin, Alese, Seelt, Triantis, Ballard, Hjelde, Anderson at some point last season. We need five in my view. That’s enough CB cover but not when you consider if Cirkin or Hume are missing one of those has to go to full back. If we lost both full backs (god forbid) then that would be our back four and we’d have no cover!

RLB says he might be back for Portsmouth but I reckon it will be after the international break. Why risk him?How many games is Ballard out for
