well I think we all thought it. Right time to sell if he’s not signing a contact.

I think when I heard about a possible expectation that it was this window, the club have prepared for it. With Mundle getting more minutes and exposure and going into the market for a left forward. I don't think anyone will be surprised when it happens.

I am interested in how the players sees all of this though. He definitely would rather be north and Ipswich.....

I doubt we are booting him out the door mate. If he lands Ipswich he’s chosen to go there.

yeh I think the Premier League is too big an opportunity for him tho.

Personally I don’t think Ipswich would be bidding at all unless Harte has indicated Clarke wants the move and we’ve indicated that we’re willing to sell at right price.

(as we should be btw, with just 2 years left on deal)

I'm sure the players all signed under the impression if they do well and a pl club comes in, they are allowed to go, it won't be a shock

Of course not. There was just an expectation that the fees would be close or to the point that the club would sell.

The players will think he’s going to play premier league football and we can’t compete. There’ll be no kick offs there

Zenit lad more of a broadhead type? Can cover out wide and upfront? Watched a few highlights of him but genuinely didn’t know he existed 2 days ago so can’t pretend to be an expert on him

I see Mark Douglas has said were rejecting the Ipswich offer but are preparing to sell Clarke.

sounds like we all expect. He will go but for slightly more than on table currently

Sunderland have a price in mind, Clarke is aware of that total (whatever that may be), if the price is met, we won't stand in his way, if it isn't, he'll not be throwing his toys out the pram. Mr Harte is working overtime as you would imagine. Also, if the price isn't met, a new contract will more than likely be signed.

I reckon he will be game as **** for PL football, also Mckenna is a very good coach

I don’t think Ipswich bid unless they know he’s up for signing.

when was the last time anybody heard of a bid being accepted but the deal falling thru as the player didn’t want to move? Especially up a division to premier

Same as you except I'd never heard of him until this week.

You must log in or register to see media

Looks like he has good instincts and a decent finish, the defending leaves a lot to be desired but there's plenty of that in the Championship as well, if he can take advantage of mistakes that's exactly what we need.
