The deal, though, has fallen through. Lyon claim that the results of Isidor’s medical tests will not allow him to complete his loan move with an option to buy. Ligue 1’s ninth-placed side add that Isidor has been suffering from consistent pain in his knee for the last fifteen days and needs to stay on the sidelines before being able to resume official competition

This. I'm all for seeing the upside in our players and Mayenda did brilliantly against Sheff Wed, but we've absolutely no idea if he's good enough yet and I don't want us to risk an opportunity at promotion for the sake of "developing" a young lad. Overplaying him or putting too much pressure on him, could damage him just as much.

If Mayenda starts 15 games this season and comes off the bench for another 15, that's a massive season for him. If he's better than that, he'll earn his place.

We don't know if he's coming here as a CF. He's scored a good ratio of goals playing both CF or LW. For all we know, he could be a replacement for Clarke, in which case Mayenda won't be getting pushed down the order.

Let's not jump the gun until we know more about the deal and RLB's intentions for him.

Yeah, lots of people not really appreciating there’s a strong chance he’s the Clarke replacement, as well as another option up front

I find it so weird when people get so riled up on an internet forum. There are folk on here I don't agree with. Smug & Prehab and I bump heads a lot, but I respect their opinions and debate is at the heart of human society. I ****ing love a good conversagument.
