I’d be amazed if anyone pays the £25m for Clarke. More likely a PL club might panic in January and spend.https://x.com/sportspeteo/status/1826142393558503564?s=46&t=bFwez-5oi7CdxUG56_1QKg

Can only go off the clips that youve seen, i get its hard to fully tell what hes like from them
I watched a few clips from some of his games, n he looks promising
A lot of people keep saying they prefer someone with championship experience, but who is there realistically in the striker/forward areas who we could signHes got a good goal scoring rate in Russia when you break it down into minutes actually played
Think it was a goal every 151 minutes which is good
Ideally we would want someone with championship experience but these also cost a lot more now. This guy has a better pedigree than some of the strikers that have moved so far this season.
He def looks more of a striker than a winger, his movement looks good n he is very mobile so can see why RLB would want him
Like you not getting ahead of myself as he has failed a medical in the past
Still think we'd get decent money, plus i think theres more chance of him signing n extension than leaving this summerI’d be amazed if anyone pays the £25m for Clarke. More likely a PL club might panic in January and spend.
The worry is that he doesn’t sign a new deal and we’re forced to sell him for peanuts next summer
I’d love to see the ‘lowlights’ reels released too with players falling over the ball, missing sitters, threading through a perfect pass for the opposition to score or thumping home an own goal.I tend to agree with this sentiment. I would be surprised if anyone on these forums know anything about this lad. The clips shown will obviously show all the "highlights" Like any signing, wether we know about the player or not is a risk. I have faith in the new boss, he seems to have a plan and if he thinks this kid will do a job, that's good enough for me. Our squad is getting better and building confidence and momentum. In football Momentum is everything..ask Ipswich last season.
You need to get out back-to-back relegation video!I’d love to see the ‘lowlights’ reels released too with players falling over the ball, missing sitters, threading through a perfect pass for the opposition to score or thumping home an own goal.
Peanuts next summer is still likely to be in the £12-15m range. Which given we seemingly can’t get £25m this summer, doesn’t represent a massive drop off. It won’t be ideal, but it won’t be terminal.I’d be amazed if anyone pays the £25m for Clarke. More likely a PL club might panic in January and spend.

Tend to agree. If what we are led to believe is true (that Clarke is really happy here and not angling for a move) then you'd assume he'll only leave for an opportunity to play in the Premier League.Still think we'd get decent money, plus i think theres more chance of him signing n extension than leaving this summer
A big chunk of which would go to Spurs, so we'd be looking at around £8-9m which is a significant drop off.Peanuts next summer is still likely to be in the £12-15m range. Nah the best offer we’ve apparently had this summer is £17m so in reality it only represents a drop from a bit over £12m once Spurs get theirs.A big chunk of which would go to Spurs, so we'd be looking at around £8-9m which is a significant drop off.
It's all conjecture as no-one knows what figures are being discussed. What we do know is that his value is at it's peak right now. It will only start to decline over the next 2-3 transfer windows unless he signs a new contractNah the best offer we’ve apparently had this summer is £17m so in reality it only represents a drop from a bit over £12m once Spurs get theirs.

No of course. However the high likelihood is that the market is setting Clarke’s value at a point that is lower than we’d want, so a £12m fee in a year wouldn’t represent a catastrophic drop-off. Also, if Harte’s goal is to get Clarke into the PL - and he’s any sort of competent agent at all - any contract extension will include a release fee in the region of £15m. If we don’t get our £25m asking price in the current circumstances I’d highly doubt we’ll get it in the future if the circumstances were equivalent. It's all conjecture as no-one knows what figures are being discussed. I’m more concerned about Jan than this window atm, hoping he signs an extension to secure us a fee with a guarantee we let him go in the summer should we not go upI genuinely think not many clubs touch the 25m fee, I read somewhere that if he leaves for that then he would be the highest fee received for a championship club.
So can’t see many teams touching it, even with the amount of ££ that Leeds have raised through sales.
I think I might be in the few but the closer it gets to the window closing the more comfortable I get.
We'd be better off keeping him and allowing his contract to run down than accept that . He is one of the best players in the Championship and the fee needs to represent that fact .Nah the best offer we’ve apparently had this summer is £17m so in reality it only represents a drop from a bit over £12m once Spurs get theirs.
