The thing about Clarke is that it’s working great for him here.
Everything about him here is good. He’s playing all the time. He’s scoring for fun. He’s a big fish in the Championship pond. He’s adored by the fans and he looks to be having the time of his life here.
If he went to Fulham or Brentford for example, little of the above would apply. Against the Mags he was poor and maybe he will have the same kind of experience as he did at Leeds and Spurs. It might work but I think it will be nothing like his time here.
It’s also possible we could swap places with some of the lower premiership teams in the near future.
He might get a big pay rise but there’s more than money to consider. He’s at home here, a great fit into our team and he’s happy. Why gamble.

Mayender should start on Tuesday against Preston.
If we could get Lankshear on a permanent or option to buy then yes, 100% but I would rather we used our own young’uns like Mayender than use other sides youth players to bring them on then send back.

This 100 %

Not sure I agree with you re loans. If we bring in a higher quality young player to help our 1st team it gives us the opportunity to send out our younger players out on loan to get valuable experience.

What I would say is, Mayenda gave a better performance yesterday than anything Burstow did in his whole time here. That was a whole season wasted on M B , when we should have developed Mayenda, Hemir or a.n. other.

Thats it for me, i get our loans havent been the best over the last few yrs but if loan player improves our chances of promotion then we should go for it

Loans like burstow are pointless but loans like Amad elevate a team. Lankshear has something about him that i really like

Very true. That's why I am not to keen on brining in another under 21 PL loan to replace Mayenda. It has to be someone of experience that Mayenda can learn from and ultimately support.

I'd bring in 2, a lad like the spurs kid who is different to Mayenda and a perm experienced striker. Let Hemir and Rusyn go out on loan.

Issue is with that,.will be the same as Burstow. Parent Pl club will want him to get X amount of minutes. That will come in place of Mayenda.

mayenda played well, he was ready for that ball to be played into him and he knew what he wanted to do with it...but, he is a young lad in the first game of the season and i think he slightly 'second guessed' himself plus it looked to me like the pace was taken out of the pass (couple did mention the pitch looking funny) which caused him to try to adjust.

he did nowt wrong and the keeper did exactly what you would want him to do.

I don't see it as an issue as it can't be put in a contract. Burstow was left out loads of times last season. Healthy competition for places is key.

Burstow was played loads more than he should have.

Alot of these are verbal agreements that normally determine which club gets the player. To keep the relationship healthy, which we are good at, we would agree to such agreements.

I think we just need a quality experienced 9 and use Rusyn and Mayenda as the other options. Hemir on loan.

My two pence anyway.

This Lankshear is 10x the player Burstow was just by looking at his clips you can see his movement he has the natural instincts of a striker already which all our strikers don’t have. Great finisher and looks physical too.

Spurs fans yesterday were calling him their next ‘Harry Kane’ and annoyed they signed Solanke stopping his pathway. He was subbed on at the same time as Kane last night and he’s been all over social media since

Imho, he was desperate to hit it with his left, any seasoned striker takes it with his right foot and buries it, either corner.

Burstow played loads as , sadly , the alternatives were absolutely hopeless as well. If one of our permanent lads were scoring they'd have played.

I'd sell Rusyn tbh, he's shown absolutely nothing other than running around pretty aimlessly. I would not want to be relying on him

From some of our fanbase you aren’t allowed to say it was a good save, only slagging off mayenda is allowed.
Good save but should’ve scored imo.

Not an open goal as I’ve seen some describe but a pretty simple chance for a striker.

however I think it should’ve been taken with the right foot not the left hence he had to try and dig it out.

that’s where experience comes in. Hopefully doesn’t knock his confidence but he didn’t play great yesterday
