No way is an unproven young lad who’s never played in the league ‘signing of the season’ like.

I’m sure he’s potentially very good but if he was that standout City ain’t selling at that price.

Realistically it’s a very small price for them to pay to essentially see how good he is though. Can buy him back for £6m more than Boro paid iirc. PSG done it with Xavi Simons and they’ve now got an asset worth likely in excess of £50m from doing nothing whatsoever. Shame football is this way.

Doubt it very much. This leadership group is appointed by Le Bris not themselves. I would think they will meet regularly with the coaching group and have an influence on the next few training sessions, maybe even on how they think in game things should be tweaked. These are lads who will have a voice with the coaches, representing players. They will also be expected to enforce coach expectations and tactical tweaking on the pitch. It is a common thing in football these days. Johnson had one. Rugby is big on it. This group looks a strong one too in my opinion.
Spot on FellTop, it's also a method we used to develop young people by giving them some responsibility within the group.

Hamilton - Latte - Conway (when he signs) - jones - Cowburn - Burgzorg

Plenty to rotate, but Hamilton will be an Amad type signing for them - thy are spending very very well
I think you're going way over the top there mind.

He looks a very good player but, putting the Champions League game against Red Star aside, in terms of goal contributions Tommy Watson outperformed him in the same league last season and is over two years younger (not saying that makes him a better player). Mundle has shone more at that level in the past.

Amad had already had a transfer of nigh on £30m and a load of senior minutes under his belt at that point...

Played and score in champs league
Huge huge potential
3.5 million is an absolute snip

there attacking options are superb
They've got a buy back for about 10 mill.

It's a glorified loan if he performs. If he's doing class they'll buy him back and sell him for more, or use him in the first team.

Exactly the same as Cirkin. If he hadn't have such **** luck with injuries, there's a high chance he'd be at Spurs.

He’ll score goals for them like.

Not Kane levels of goals but still a good signing for them.
When he signed, under the “greatest manager of all time”, he looked utterly terrible! For quite some time. But he now looks a very good player. Agree think he’ll be a great signing for spurs

I remember reading that, that particular agreement ran out last summer, which was a relief to read.

Sounds like a nightmare to keep happy.

I'd take Coburn back if he's surplus and available for a reasonable price.

Jobe in the 'leadership team' is interesting. Obviously young but you can often see him making himself heard and he's always one of the first to come over to the away fans after a game
I find it mad tbh. 18 years old. No doubt he plays 80+ minutes tomorrow, regardless of performance.

Let’s see with Jobe.

Actually for a first full season of you sit back and look at it overall, for a child, that was a really stellar season.

At a new club, big expectations, the pressure of playing for us with the strange ‘willing us to fail’ element in a small portion of the fan base. The kid done good.

Jude’s second full season was dominating games for Dortmund. Jobe takes half of the step forward in the Championship and we have a beast.

Personally, out of all the players we have with such raw and immense potential, I’ll happily go on record now and say Jobe goes furthest in his career.

Let’s get 5-10 games deep and see what we think the best 11 is.

You forgetting about wor Riggy like?

Going to be honest here, I think some of the Jobe criticism is outrageous and way overboard.

He plays the majority of the games because he's good. 2nd biggest goal threat last season, one of our better ball carriers, only player in the squad who can receive the ball up against defenders, pretty good in the air which will be crucial tomorrow, never hides and is often doing the interviews when we are on TV and always is one of the first to come across to fans both home and away.

He isn't playing because he's Speakman/Dodds mate, he's playing because he's good. He's not getting links to top leagues for the crack.

Oh and the ****e about him being slow on the ball isn't even true, would always like it to be quicker but it's on par with the majority of championship midfielders and will get better the more he plays.

The lad is an absolute gem and it should be celebrated that he's at the club but it isn't.

Absolutely. See this time and time again when a narrative is introduced such as Proctor and Dodds should be gone from the club as they are terrible. Dodds was terrible as a head coach but from what I hear and see he’s great as a coach.

same with Jobe, whenever he is mentioned it’s always followed by “I bet he plays every game though” or something like that.

Agree with most of this but it absolutely is true he's slower in midfield, You can't write what people see with their eyes off mate - maybe it's a case off AA and Rigg move the ball faster when they have it than jobe does

Think this post is a bit ott mind. The lad was out of his depth in many games last year, shouldn’t have started as many as he did as the performances certainly didn’t warrant it. The lads acceleration is poor but he’s a young lad in a big frame. Don’t agree about him being good in the air particularly defensively he was weak as piss a couple of times. Southampton away springs to mind.

Second highest goals granted is impressive as a 17 year old and I really hope he kicks on this year. I think holding down a regular position as an 8 in Le Bris system will help.

AA might move the ball quicker but he's in the 4th percentile for pass completion amongst midfielders. That's horrific. And i'm a big Aouchiche fan.

As I said, all the data puts Jobe in the middle of the pack for speed of pass and extra touches. Its a myth.
