Bring a centre back in an O’Nien can cover Hume at RB, Alese can cover Left sided centre half and LB and can HjeldeVery likely. Nothings certain though. Also don’t think we’ll necessarily replace him in this window

Not so sure myself. He's a top end 8 in the championship so I want him playing 40+ games in that position instead of making us weaker by playing him out of position, similar to how we played Ekwah last season. Really don't think we have anyone capable of filling in for Neil. Let Ekwah go, bring in a DM and a forward with the money. The flexibility of moving Alese between CB & LB is the reason why I don’t think we will be looking for an out and out LB as well as having Leo Hjelde too.
It’s also the reason why I see us going for a CB. While I would be happy for us to get a DM I think bringing Browne in is probably good enough to not get one in and be comfortable when you consider how stacked we are in midfield.
A few on there will be away like but yeah looks decent reallyYou must log in or register to see images
Not sure how it will go this season. Big positives with Ballard and Rigg signing. The club also is in no hurry to take the slightest offer for our best players also a big step in the right direction.
Huge doubts creeping in again over the fact Dodds and Proctor are hanging round the new manager who hasn't as yet brought any of his own coaches in as far as I'm aware.
The lack of a competent centre forward being acquired since the signing of Stewart and loan signing of Simms is going to hinder the team a lot. Will probably cost us 15-20 points if not addressed imo.
We aren't far away from pushing for play offs but won't if the striker isn't bought and the manager doesn't get his own assistant in is my feeling at the minute.

That's not what anyone is saying. What's being said is, due to our budget and, to some extent, due to our standing relative to other clubs at the moment, we're having to take a little bit of a punt on players, particularly centre forwards (rolling the dice was the term someone else used). It's daft to overspend on a player that you're not sure about. Grigg is just an example of doing that. No one is saying we should be hesitant of signing players because we had our fingers burnt over him. He's just an example of an overspend on a panic signing that wasn't suited to us.Granted, injuries and personal issues can’t be foreseen..
But we don’t really have that issue, we have four strikers none of whom have fit into our style of play whatsoever.. there’s less chance of getting it wrong if the homework is done properly by decent scouts surely otherwise what would be the point of employing them? Just go and ask someone to have a Quick Look at their injury record and see if they look alright in a few matches. Players are signed to fit systems, or at least they are in the better teams, and we haven’t done that so far it just looks like we fling **** at a dozen players who we think have potential and hope a it sticks on a few.
To continually say one bad signing 5 years ago under a totally different ownership has made us hesitant to spend decent money on another striker is incredible even by this boards standards.

We do have good scouts tho, theyve brought in plenty of quality. Have they got transfers wrong, of course they have but tell me a team that hasnt got ones wrong?Granted, injuries and personal issues can’t be foreseen..

I really wish scouting was as easy as you are making out
You don't, otherwise you'd be out of a job, as anyone could do it!We do have good scouts tho, theyve brought in plenty of quality. Have they got transfers wrong, of course they have but tell me a team that hasnt got ones wrong?

Don't think we'll sign a LB when we have Alese, Cirkin, Hjelde and Hume all capable of playing there. Huggins to come back for 2nd half of the season hopefully. So say theoretically we sign Mendy.
what die we thinks left to get? A centre half and left back if we are being picky?

Very valid point!!Pfft
I play football manager thank you very much
I'd imagine Matete, Bennette and possibly Embo will be away from that list. Sounds like Pembele might go tooYou must log in or register to see images
I don’t think we necessarily NEED a dcmSo the general consensus judging from just the replies to my questions is we are mostly in agreement that once we get a striker through the door we mostly want to concentrate on outgoings then.
Centre back
Right back
DM
Hasn't played, assume it's due to injury as he travelled to Spain with the lads but hasn't even been on the benchI'd imagine Matete, Bennette and possibly Embo will be away from that list. Sounds like Pembele might go too
Hemir out on loan maybe?
Ideally we need a CB who can play on the right too (or do we leave that to LO9?)
Interested to see if Triantis can take a step up and fill that CDM role he did for Hibs - has he played much in pre season? Can't remember seeing his name mentioned much
