So say theoretically we sign Mendy.

what die we thinks left to get? A centre half and left back if we are being picky?
A CB, LB, backup RB when TP goes and another striker, wouldn’t be against signing a top youngster and giving them a season loan either. But we really don’t need much.

There’s a lot of names I’ve been told should / could be away that we need to happen quick

Probably one more CF (probably a loan) maybe a DM as backup to Neil and i'd like CB and LB too

If Neil gets injured we have no one who can slot into that sitter role. I do think that new lad Lenz will breakthrough this season though

Think that’s really the order of buisness really.

get some bodies off the books, sort some good loans out and then go from there.

Pembele goes then we will definitely need someone, already think we have adequate cover on the left but wouldn’t be against the signing of someone else but for me it’s a centre half we desperately need.

I think Browne is probably the reason why we won’t get another DM.

Pembele will have to be given away, no one will buy him, still got 4 years on his contract as well hasn’t he? ‍♂️

A Neil backup in the deep midfield position, preferably an older head on a free. A centre back, preferably left footed and permanently move Alese to left back to compete with Cirkin.

More concerned about outgoings than incomings at this moment though, outside of the striker position.

Is Pembele going to be off then? I think there's a player in there but more suited to being a wingback/winger which won't happen here.

It will always happen no mattter how much work the scouts do. The scouts will review hours of highlights/games, go watch plenty of live games, research about what the player is like, what their injury record is and whether a player is likely to settle into the club

They can do all that and get it 'wrong', in the sense that a signing doesnt work out

Granted, injuries and personal issues can’t be foreseen..

But we don’t really have that issue, we have four strikers none of whom have fit into our style of play whatsoever.. there’s less chance of getting it wrong if the homework is done properly by decent scouts surely otherwise what would be the point of employing them? Just go and ask someone to have a Quick Look at their injury record and see if they look alright in a few matches. Players are signed to fit systems, or at least they are in the better teams, and we haven’t done that so far it just looks like we fling **** at a dozen players who we think have potential and hope a it sticks on a few.

To continually say one bad signing 5 years ago under a totally different ownership has made us hesitant to spend decent money on another striker is incredible even by this boards standards.

The flexibility of moving Alese between CB & LB is the reason why I don’t think we will be looking for an out and out LB as well as having Leo Hjelde too.

It’s also the reason why I see us going for a CB. While I would be happy for us to get a DM I think bringing Browne in is probably good enough to not get one in and be comfortable when you consider how stacked we are in midfield.

Very likely. Nothings certain though. Also don’t think we’ll necessarily replace him in this window

Thanks for the update! Not sure we would need to replace him once Huggins and Seelt are back later in the season.
