My worry is again that it’s shoehorning a load of good “8s” into the midfield and having not much creativity. We’ve no idea what the striker situation looks like still and we could end up starting the season with Jobe up top and Neil, Browne and Ekwah/Rigg in midfield and it would just be more of the same of last season. Slow, sideways football.
We aren’t going to see that when Le Bris’ whole emphasis is on fast moving football and high intensity. Especially on counter attacks he wants no more than two touches by the players to get it up the pitch

Jobe still a kid and had a respectable enough return last season, especially considering how the team did after TM went!

It will be interesting to see how he does this year with a full season under his belt and hopefully a stable manager.
For me he's got to show what the fuss is about him this year, his brother did it in a better league at the same age so he needs to be up near there in a lesser league and then he could really take off

I checked out of curiosity and Ekwah's next goal/assist after the Southampton game was on 1/1/24 against Preston. He hasn't given consistently good performances but Ekwah's goals did help to win 4 games last season.

Think he missed a few games after Southampton due to the dead leg as well mate.

I’d like us to keep him but recognise he needs to recapture the Southampton/ Luton form on a more frequent basis.

He shouldn't be judged by his brothers standards! Admittedly it's why there is so much interest in him but his brother is in the minority of players who do it at a high level from the moment they step onto eh pitch at 17-18. Most players are hit and miss at that level with signs of promise.

He should be judged as a 18 year old with his first season of first team football, think it was his first full season?

His brother who was doing it a higher level at that age is a very unfair measure for him, Jude Bellingham is a unfair measure for all of our first team and most professional footballers to be fair!

Nout to say we even went back in for him but I’m sure we’ve been outbid and KLD is satan haha

Do hope we get someone signed up pre Cardiff for everyone’s sake mind

Have a feeling that the French lad is all wrapped up and will be on the website on sat or sun holding the scarf.

Why wait? Why not.

It's not even it being him really it's just more so how long are we actually going to take to get someone over the line haha, surely we have had targets and spoke to their agents etc ages ago

Whoever does sign is gonna have some weight on their shoulders

I’m sure the club are trying to get the right type of player in but the longer it goes on the worse it looks.

previously credited with interest in vipotnik who is now seemingly off to Swansea won’t help their cause either

Don’t get me wrong I understand the frustration and not aimed at anyone here we’re all fairly reasonable and realistic, the Twitter backlash will be off the charts :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Just to clarify my point on Adil. It would be a case of letting him go if he wanted to, not a case of pushing him out the door. From the club perpsective. From his perspective I can see him feeling frustrated as he doesnt look a regular starter to me and at 22 he needs to be to be honest. Since his breakthrough as a 17 year old wonderkid it hasnt really happened for him anywhere.

As an impact sub he would be worthwhile on the bench, no doubt. But we are perhaps building up a lot of these sub options in Poveda, Mundle, etc. Adil needs to start playing games for me, as that is how his decision making improves, but he has a battle on his hands to start them here IMO.
I’d alternate him and Jobe as the advanced midfielder far more and think he should feature more often but would understand if he wanted to move on. Not really sure what a good fee would be.

This, the poor sod who we eventually sign (if anyone) is almost on a hiding to nothing if he doesn't hit the ground running
A large section of our fans will be straight on his back.
