So whats going wrong then mate? He has been given loads of opportunities and looks shyte. Lets be honest here

That's the problem mate, he hasn't ...

... Simms at Coventry, for example, was given start after start but did very little at first.

Sunderland, last season, tried every forward for half a dozen games each so no one had a clue imo.

Some players will just struggle to settle

Hes clearly struggled to settle in the UK. He doesnt look the same player i watched in the Ukraine, think his confidence has taken a hit n he seems to have lost his spark

Still time for him to come good tho

"I’m saying people are very selective about what they choose to highlight and I don’t think I’m one of those."

<laugh>

What’s selective about replying to your comment saying he had some involvement? If you’re stating he had involvement in our promotion then you can accept he played a bigger part in the 3 dreadful seasons we had in L1 where he played more football than he did the promotion year? Or is he exempt from that anarl :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Would Neil or Ekwah be able to distribute the ball well if they played at CB? He’s a midfielder of course he can pass the ball. Does that make up for the negatives? In my opinion it doesn’t, in other peoples it does.

I’m just asking a simple question of who people would replace from our best Xl if not O’nien because we need to improve.
Unless we buy a replacement who is class on the ball we will miss his distribution. Other than maybe Greaves I wonder if there is a better centre back at doing that. He is the least of our worries, a great role model, leader, the odd mistake and lapse of concentration. Replaceable but will be harder to improve on a budget than people realise. You’re a bit daft about him. Not in a good way.

Bad signing in terms of what we needed, just didn't fit Mowbrays style. However, I posted earlier that he scored 2 goals in 793 minutes last season and Simms scored 2 goals in his first 1100 minutes at Coventry, players need time and I'm not sure he got that for numerous reasons.

This team is nowhere near good enough for automatics and you don’t want to replace arguably the worst player in our best Xl so who do we replace? Or do we just not improve because we want the nice lads in our team rather than better players?
Arguably the worst!!? He is nowhere near the worst. Nothing to do with him being a nice lad, I judge him in his ability on the pitch.

Perhaps this was the problem ...

Only 10 players scored 15 or more goals in the championship last season and I honestly think only one of them could've realistically been our starting striker last season, Latte Lath. The rest of them either aren't strikers or are/were just well out of our price range.

Szmodics: Midfielder before last season

Adam Armstrong: Played multiple positions, was signed while in PL for over £15million

Morgan Whittaker: Winger

Summerville: Winger

Vardy: On crazy wages, rumoured over £100k per week in the championship

Che Adams: Cost over £15million while in PL

Latte Lath: £5million

Sargent: Cost over £9million while in PL

Haji Wright: Cost £9million

Jack Clarke: Winger

This is why it is so crucial we get into the £5m-£10m transfer bracket. We have to do it to compete.
We spent £10m last season. This summer we’ve went and got frees. Could we not spend a big chunk of the budget on this forward line?

We brought in money though, we haven't done that this summer. Nobody in the championship is spending this summer without parachute payments or big sales made within the previous few windows.

Even if we do have a budget, i'd rather sell someone and have a bigger budget to improve the team as a whole.

There's something puzzling me, perhaps someone on here could help.

I've little knowledge of Football Manager and computer games but, can players on these games refuse to 'sign'?

If not that might explain why people don't understand why we can't always make players come to live in Sunderland.

Just a thought.
We are also a huge club and most who come here don’t live in Sunderland anyway.

Not a chance is he one of the worst. Then lists a load of our better players as justification. Hemir, Styles, Burstow, Roberts, Ba, Ekwah at the instant all less effective than 09 last year.

Go and read my original comment instead of jumping in mid conversation and making yourself look like a doughnut.

If Newcastle can attract players like Isak and Bruno G I’m sure we won’t have an issue attracting players from Ligue 2 if the finances are right.
