I might be missing something here, but I’m not convinced by Stansfield. It might be something to do with the fact that he turned us down last year because he didn’t want to move so far from London? He may have had a valid reason for saying that but it makes me doubt his character a little bit.

If I could pick one of those 5 right now I’d go for Ugbo.

He’s never had a run in his best position tbf. Always gets pigeonholed as a defensive midfielder when he should be one of the two who are further forward. The difficulty for Matete is that he’s a long way behind our other options in that spot.

You can be worried about stuff as much as you want too but getting worried/upset about something that hasn't happened yet? If that's you I'm afraid I believe you are a fanny :emoticon-0105-wink:

To be fair it’s no more being a fanny than people having a meltdown over the word skullduggery or arse licker :emoticon-0136-giggl

Been thinking we were strong defensively for cover however just Anderson and Johnson named as defensive subs says otherwise

Hjelde is at the game so unsure why he hasn't been named as a sub on the official page
 
Thing is with this Mendy situation his party sent out a complimentary message to our club and the fans . Ready for action then. You'd think if he'd been dumped in any kind of way there'd be some reaction. Is there any ? Haven't heard anything from his contacts. Maybe the hold up is acceptable to all parties ?

I don’t know I think the thing with Matate is that he can get stuck in. When we won at Huddersfield ( a couple of seasons ago, 2-0 ) he came on towards the end and started putting himself about and winning tackles. IIRC he won the ball in midfield and got it forward which ended up with Amad scoring the 2nd goal in the last minute. I always thought he could add a bit of bite to our midfield but he doesn’t seem to have had the chance. That injury last pre season didn’t help him make his mark in the team. I like him and I think we need someone like that in the squad

No offence mate but I keep seeing this same routine being played out on virtually every aspect of the club from merchandising to the new manager to adding experience ad infinitum ...

... people start off with a big 'if' then add more layers until it becomes a real concern.

That's followed by a comment like your last one which is based entirely on what you've imagined.

Nowt wrong with criticism but much of it is based on speculation tbh which just feels weird to me.
